82 Scrambler

Heres mine. 82 originally a 4cyl. Has a fresh 304 now. Will get some more pics up soon.

I would consider this one to be pretty much reconditioned back to original. when I got it, nothing had been altered from OE except tires that I could tell. Only things I've changed from production would be going to gray on the interior, and the new paint/decal kit to Laredo. Here are before & after pics.

Here are a few pictures of my stock restored Scrambler. The first one I didn't modify. It was a challenge to stay oem but the end result is very rewarding.

Beautiful Adam... simply Beautiful!

Makes me glad I'm bringing mine back to stock although unlike yours, mine is pretty much the bottom of the line Scrambler. Sometimes I get the urge to add options (like a stock tach) but I can't bring myself to modify it from stock.
Hopefully someday I'll have some nice pictures to post :)

Joe

Man, I look at these beautiful restored stock Scramblers and sometimes wonder... WHAT have I done!

NOW THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL JEEP!!!! That color combo is my favorite..

I'm new here, and just bought my first Scrambler this weekend (been wanting one for a long time, and finally found the right one, for me anyway). This is a 1983 CJ-8, 116,000 miles, all original powertrain (4.2, T5, Dana 300, AMC 20 rear and Dana 30 front, ps,pb) I bought it from the second owner, who repainted it the factory green color about 5 years ago. He also sand blasted and repainted the original white steel rims and painted them brown. I am not going to modify this one, just going to drive it as is and fix it when it breaks down. Heres some pics from the seller, I'll post more pics if anyone wants to see some more.

Spankrjs, you got a beauty there. I am a big fan of green.

Appreciate it Randyzzz. The guy said it was the factory color. He had to replace one of the back corners (piece between the tailgate and back quarter panel) and he gave me the original piece he cut out. It had this same green with same color decals. I thought the green was definitely different:rolleyes:

Yeah, you don't see too many green ones. Wish mine was green. You mentioned more pics... I'm sure we'd all love to see more pics. Oh, and welcome, by the way!:D

I will take some more pics tonight and post them tomorrow. I am going to take off the diamond plate front bumper and cross member overlays. I have the factory black plastic front cross member cover I am going to put back on. I also will probably put one of the Collins Bros step bumpers on the back, and I might try to find a rollbar spare tire mount. The PO made a bed mounted spare tire carrier that bolts into the factory rear seat mounting holes, so no extra holes. Even has all the factory owner manuals and info in the factory plastic bag in the glove box.:D

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.

Yumpet and spankrjs you have great looking Scramblers. I love both colors.
