I eliminated the door pulls on mine because they stuck me in the leg and I just didn’t need them I found. The doors are great
At 5’9” I’m not a big guy but I do see where the pulls could be a problem. Turns out my door seals will be here by the end of the week. I’ll get them installed and see how it all fits.I had to take my door pulls off as well. I'm 6'6" and I need all the room I can get. I never put the windows on though, so I just close them with the door sill when I'm using the doors.
Are you running the clutch fan? Maybe install a HD clutch that will lock up sooner? How hot are you???
I’ve got a heat issue, well in my mind it’s a heat issue.
very built AMC 360 with FiTech Efi along with V8 Be Cool aluminum radiator with mechanical fan and shroud. I’m running water wetter instead of coolant and on mild days I am at 215 degrees easily and get to 225 at stoplights. During the Summer months it’s worse. My timing is set right. I also run an 8274 on the front which blocks a lot of the air.
speedhut gauge and FiTech have separate gauges and both sensors are threaded on top of the manifold. They both show the same temps.
any ideas on how to bring the temps down? I don’t want to loose the 8274 but if I must I will.
I'd certainly pull the winch for a while to see if it's the issue before getting into anything else. I have an aluminum radiator on mine (just a stock 4.0) that runs so cool that the electric fan rarely runs unless I'm doing low-speed driving. I'm kind of shocked that even a built 360 with an 8274 would be a problem. How hot are you???

Great call-out. I have actually added a spacer and put my fan closer to the radiator - as close as I can get without hitting it.How's your fan to shroud clearance? The one picture I could find in the thread looks like the fan blades don't protrude very deep into the shroud and maybe are a bit far away from the edge? The tighter it is to the edge the more efficient it will be, and ideally should be 1/2 of pitch depth into the shroud.
May also throw a new radiator cap on. Sometimes if they won't seal pressure right things will boil over.
Also since I am running an automatic I have hot tranny fluid running through my radiator. I also thought about adding a separate trans cooler as a last resort.I'd certainly pull the winch for a while to see if it's the issue before getting into anything else. Try a lower thermostat to get things flowing sooner to let the radiator keep up better? Doubt it would help, but all I got other than Raymond's idea (or maybe a hard-mounted fan, eliminate the clutch?)
That's an idea. I do not have a clutch fan currently. Are you running the clutch fan? Maybe install a HD clutch that will lock up sooner?
Yea I was going to ask you after I saw the other post about your 8274.Are you currently running a flex fan? IMO clutch fans work much better and move way more air. My little 4.3 will get warm enough to engage the fan on long slow climbs in 90+ degree heat. It only stays on a minute or two and things are cooled off. The fan moves an incredible amount of air compared to the flex fan I had with the 258 prior. For what its worth I also have an 8274 blocking most of the grill.

Those are cool. I know your attention to detail so when you mount it please tell us how you attach it without damaging your paint.Maybe it’s my age (46 next week), maybe it’s my love of muscle cars / anything 1970ish and older, AMC Jeeps, …. while I don’t like chrome on modern stuff I dig it on the older stuff.
Picked up a Laredo grill cover for The Family Man yesterday. Hopefully it cleans up nicely. There’s something about chrome on silver

Unfortunately, it sound like they need a new tech guy....Heat issues seem to be solved. Time will tell …..
now I have a new problem. I hope I didn’t jinx myself earlier talking about how I’ve had nothing but good things to say about FiTech and my experiences with them In both this Jeep and multiple others.
The Jeep sat for 3 months without being cranked. Since then I consistently loose fuel pressure when it sits more than an hour. This makes it hard to start. I can get it started…. Just isn’t fun.
called the tech line. Guy said to replace regulator in the Force Fuel and all things will be fine. Fine, it’s a $15 part. I did that. Same problem after.
called the tech line. Guy said I needed a check valve in the main fuel line. When I asked why I’ve never needed it before in 600 miles he said “dunno… but your issue is fuel leaking back out of Force Fuel.“. Fine, it’s a $6 part. I’ll do it. Guess what?? Same problem after.
called the tech line today. Guy said I need to service my Force Fuel filter. Said it probably got gummed up sitting for 3 months. Fine, it doesn’t cost $ just some time cleaning. I‘ll do it…. This weekend.
Stay tuned…….
