I have just purchased a factory installed 81 scrambler v8 bought from original owner --yes AMC made a v8 in 81 only do your research
Yes they did. Most of us have only heard of the V8 being in the CJ7. I have two Scramblers that I have put AMC 304s in. I think that should have been an option. We all would love to hear more about your V8 Scrambler that you got from the original owner. And we love pictures. And any info you got from the original owner would be of great interest to all of us here. This is the friendliest Scrambler place on earth. Any info you need, just ask.

I almost spit my coffee out laughing when I read the first sentence of this thread. Of course I would love to see Norton's unicorn Scrambler but in the meantime Renee and I also spent the day happily and jokingly thinking about a list of those who you do NOT need to say "do your research" to.
I won't list it here at the risk of getting off-topic but this forum always inspires me to "do my research." Cheers to all.

I forgot to mention that the last group on our list were the members of this forum Lol.

Let's chill on replies pending the VIN, there's really nothing else to discuss until that is shared.

As stated, blur/block the other VIN numbers.

(Off to check IP addresses on the back end...)

Research does state that v8s were an option for 1981 only but after talkingto original owner he did a 4 cyl to v8 swap sorry but I thought I had a rare option and vin does state 4cyl
And still, as we stated, no one has ever seen a VIN with a V8 specified.

You may want to consider your wording more carefully in future posts.
