But not necessarilly in the steering... Here's the deal. When I accelerate it pulls in one direction and when I take my foot off the gas suddenly it pulls in the other direction. However, I don't really feel it in the steering. If I accelerate/decelerate gradually then the problem is also reduced. This is a problem though with shifting as I constantly have to correct left and right as I press and release the gas. I have replaced the tie rods, knuckles, steering box, and pump and that greatly increased the accuracy/tightness of my steering but this issue continues and like I said, I don't feel it in the steering weel at all.

Any thoughts folks?

Thanks,
Adam

a couple of things to check.........first check to make sure you don't have a shackle froze up or over tight....the bolt and nut as a unit should turn with just a pressure and make sure the bushings haven't collased or rotted. Second check your steering box bracket to make sure it's not flexing or cracked have a friend turn the wheel with the motor off and watch the bracket for movement.Third check the frame around the the spring hangers and around the shackel mounts to make sure one hasn't worked loose or the in the worst case the frame cracked......if all that checks out look at the frame on the inside and out side from one end to the other looking for cracks or a buckle in the frame if all that checks out then have the front end alignment checked.

Broken motor mounts or trans mount can cause some weird handling issues.

No lockers and the steering bracket was replaced with a heavy duty one when I replaced the box. I'll have to check the other items that y'all suggested in the daylight. I found it odd thought that it always pulls the same direction on accel and the reverse on decel ( I believe right on accel and left on decel.. I'll double check that tomorrow as well). I'll let you know what I find and keep the suggestions coming!

Thanks All,

Adam

Have you checked your front end alignment? Do you see a different wear pattern on your RF and LF tires? What size tires you running? That's the first thing I would check.
Or in some rare cases you might check to see if your front springs are a matched set, i.e., same length and width, also check the rear. If you're getting different flex from mis-matched springs it'll cause a handling problem.
Then check your mounts on the axles and frame to see if they're intact and in the correct place. If one spring is significantly weaker than the other or the mount is allowing movement it could cause the same problem. If your Right side Rear axle is moving forward on acceleration it can cause a similiar steering issue. I'm assuming you are driving this in 2wd when this happens.
Good luck
