1981 scrambler build 3 link

Awesome work as usual!
Curious about the bumper...have you put it together yet? Any way to make a swing out work on it?
When are you gonna start turning those bumpers out as a DIY kit??? ;)

Any sketches of how you will make the drop down carrier work? I'm not sure I'm sold on that idea yet since my back tells me lifting that spare can NOT be fun. ;) Curious about it though.
As for kicking out some DIY stuff...it shouldn't be that difficult for you to do and make some extra $$. I run a JCR "kit" bumper on my XJ and love the idea. They did all the hard stuff (engineering and laser/water jet cutting) and I just folded and welded it up. It bolted right on and I made my own "custom" brush guard part for it. I think the DIY thing is one that is far to overlooked by manufacturers today. There are a lot of folks out there that would like a quality...thing(?) but can't afford the huge money to buy one complete. Add in the pride at being able to say to built it, partially, and then the option to customize off a well engineered start point...well, you can see I'm hooked. :) Here's a gratuitous shot of my XJ bumper. ;)

scored on some doors

my buddy Ron started welding on the cage

and here's the beast he's using

Any progress on the tire carrier? I am concerned about back strain too...thinking about a linear actuator, or even a cheap HF mini winch to assist with the lifting.
