Craigslist Gold

These recent posts of cool junkyard finds has me a bit jealous. I don't have any good junk yards or pick-n-pulls within 2 hours of me (that I know of). However, the one thing I do have is craigslist! As most of you know I'm a pretty diligent craigslist searcher and I've struck gold a few times (I've also just missed some crazy good deals too). Here are my latest CL acquisitions I just got this week (These are not for sale, sorry.):

NOS CJ Door Appliques:

NOS CJ Mudflaps front and rear:

I have yet to hit a NOS honey hole like I've heard about from RedMistress and Jerseyjeeps but I do find little gems here and there. I did miss out on an OEM CJ Brushguard with the Ramsey Winch center section for $75 a week ago when I was on vacation. :banghead: So anyone else find some good Craigslist gold?

My turn. Two World Cab door shells in great shape (one nicely painted!) and most importantly left side window glass :D

I missed out on a t5 transmission for $20. Guy just wanted it out of his garage. I was the second person to contact him, but I knew it was gone at that price

BIG thanks to Mr BOh who sent me a lead on a CL ad with a front seat for a j truck. Turned out to be the exact one I needed for the '75 J20. Also got a T177 trans and t case from a 80s j truck to convert my 1980 to stick and also 4 15x8 golden eagle rims as unadvertised goodies when I got there. Thanks again Boh.

Now , that t177 (3.8?-1 first) should have the correct input shaft. (No 5" spacer. ) because it was behind a 6 cyl ??

And do you have the 1980 short shaft d300 for it ?

Not sure if this qualifies but....

My ex-wife's family bought me an AR-15 as a gift a few years back. I never fired it, it stayed in the box. New it cost around $1300. My step-dad has one and while I love guns and own quite a few, an AR-15 for me is fun for a few mags then I get bored and start counting the $s with each trigger pull. Therefore I never used mine.

Back when I was finishing up my CJ-7 I knew I wanted a 8274 for it to finish it off. However I was going through my divorce at the time and funds were tight to say the least. Guy had one on CL with bold capital letters NO TRADES, CASH ONLY and wanted $1100. It was just a few months old. Well, as stated, I didn't have cash. I noticed in the CL pics that he was an obvious gun collector with multiple safes in the background. I called him up, told him my idea, and waited for him to yell at me. Much to my surprise, he didn't own an AR yet. A couple hours later, the trade was done.

I installed it on my CJ7 but when I sold it I kept it due to the final agreed on price for the CJ7. Now it rests on my LJ Rubi. So all in all, I don't have a penny in it and I was able to get a NO TRADES guy to trade. :D

We talking J trucks here so totally different ball game. So I am converting a 1980 j truck to stick. So this is mated to an np208.

Anytime. Hunting down these things is half the fun.

Found a lot of really nice things on CL lately. Fifteen chrome 15x8s with center caps (but only bought 5 so there are still 10 out there), OEM garnet bikini top, and OEM garnet saddle bags. Jury is till out whether the garnet spare tire cover is OEM or not.

I curse you for the images of your Rubi LJ with the 8274 on it. You see, I still have one NOS 8274 lurking in my parts stash and it now appears it would look darn nice on my 2006 22K mile LJ Rubicon....... how did you mount it? By the way, the 8274 I have came from CL as well. I went to look at an old Willys Jeep in a little town near me and the guy was (and still is) a parts hoarder. He had two NOS winches he picked up when an AMC dealer closed up and sold me one.......

Your LJ sounds like mine. Bought mine new in '06 and just turned 40k on mine. It has spent most of it's life as a toy obviously.

The mount is made by Warn specifically for the TJ/LJ. I have noticed that most on-line sites don't even show it. I actually had to go to the Warn site to find it and order it.
