Only about an hour away. Seller disclosed a rebuilt/restored title, so I was a bit skeptical. After searching the VIN on VINLeaks.com I came up with the Sacramento auction that sold it on the salvage title with before pics. Lists "mechanical" not wreck. Turns out the engine had a knock and the emissions had been tampered with. Just brought her home today. The guy I bought it from took a few liberties, but she's all good.

A few before and as bought:

Id say you did REALLY well...that guy had a lot of money in the paint and stripes and new Laredo seat covers to sell it for only 7500 Buy it now...wow you did REALLY REALLY well. Love those 82-82 laredos!

PS...he guy installed the seats wrong...the carpet part on the bottom goes to the outside

I didn't know that mechanical issues can turn a title into salvage status...that really sucks. Great looking Laredo.

Wow.....Looks exactly like mine....'83 and all.

I don't think it was because of mechanical. I have never heard of that either. I think they listed it as mechanical instead of wrecked.

I know it went through the auction in-op, on a bill of sale (no title) and listed as salvage. The first salvage entry in vehicle history is when the buyer applied for the title in CA. The seller said it was donated on a bill of sale when the owner passed. Maybe they sold it as scrap. Personally, I think someone was too _____ to wait and file a lost title. I am just glad I found the auction pics and it was not wrecked.

i found this for 1K while looking for a replacement motor for my cj5. found the motor attached to this scrambler. then a couple days later i found this place.
