I think I can now safely provide an update. As you might have guessed hunting season came and went, and there ended up being the beginning of the end of the marriage. She brought three postals to the union, and he brought one. They acquired one while married. Although he has a CJ-5, he is less interested in CJ-8s (and postals in particular). She expected all five postals to be hers.
With the impending divorce and the uncertainty of to who was actually going to get what, she asked that I not say anything until she had some certainty.
Sadly, prior to consulting with me (sniff), she elected to trade her share of postals to a friend in Fairbanks in exchange for 3/4 ton axles (locked, geared, and installed) for her XJ.
She recently retrieved the three that were unquestionably hers, and sent two of them immediately to Fairbanks. The third is on her property awaiting an open trailer north. I had the opportunity to get a few parts I needed for my own project last weekend, but that one is headed out soon.
Sadly, the soon-to-be-ex-husband wanted to keep his postal, and also insisted that he keep the 5th one acquired during the marriage. I do not know what his plans are for those two.
So, she no longer has any postals.
However, the friend in Fairbanks who has the three is also a guy that I know and first met on a wheelin' trip back in 1997. He is still interested in possibly disposing of the three tops/doors that he now has.
Again, I will provide updates as I am able.
