Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

At Brother John's Alehouse, drinking Caldera Brewing Chocolate Coconut Porter. Like dessert in a glass, 9.5%. Waiting for my Pepper Steak sandwich to come, I might have to have two!

Mmmm... Hard to beat a fridge full of Black Butte Porter. Although, I felt that this was a more appropriate background.

This was the first of 6 beers that I got from my SS over in that other thread , he lives in Alabama and this first one is from Abita in LA. Excellent IPA with great hops.

Randy, I've got a half rack of that in the garage I can't bring myself to open up... Black Butte used to be a staple for me, but grew away from it.

If you ever get up this way (and like NW hops) we should meet up at Ice Harbor Brewery and have some of their IPA!

Call me biased, or a Hop Head, but that is the perfect IPA for me! Everything else is a little on the BLAND side.

Quite different from the Pales I've been into lately but very nice nonetheless

I've tried those up here (quit a bit north of SF) and fresh in SF, never really impressed with "steam beers"

Think that's where I'll leave that one...

Christmas party tonight with the neighbors, picked up a few things... never had the Bouncy House or the 603 Red IPA, so we will see how they are.

Odd Side Ales, Morningwood Stout. Brewed with coffee and bourbon barreled. Pours like a syrup, no head, and huge coffee flavors...

Tonight I got into two more of my SS beers. These are both cans and both from 'Bama. I was impressed with the IPA. And the pig was above average and almost on the side of the IPA fence vs just the pale ale side. Both of these were impressive canned goodness. My SS has really nailed it !

Date night so no pics, but had a pint of Stone Lucky Bastard which was absolutely spectacular and a pint of Arcadia Cereal Killer which was excellent.

Big news is that I got inside info that the Beer Grotto here in town is getting a quarter keg of an uber-rare Founders beer "Canadian Breakfast Stout" aged in maple barrels. Hasn't been around since '09 or '06. Can't remember which he said. It's coming up end of next month.

Impossible to keep up with JJ who seems to have a different jeep for every beer he drinks but here's tonight's chosen PA. I know you've seen it before but who cares rightImageUploadedByTapatalk1419158877.723575.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1419158914.324424.jpg
