Some dash porn for starters:

IMG_20191201_160129.jpg

Got a few things ticked off my list:
Sorted tach wiring,
Installed winch, bumper mounted turn signals, and rear badges,

IMG_20191201_160216.jpg
Solved check engine light - the maf was unplugged and almost melted to my manifold.
Dropped tank, solved sender issue, sorted fuel/temp gauge issue - wired backwards.

Pulled seats and console, started working on the fiberglass speaker enclosure:
IMG_20191128_160111.jpg
Laid tape and foil over the site.

IMG_20191130_080838.jpg
Started laying glass, ultimately 3 2mm layers.

00000IMG_00000_BURST20191201154758715_COVER.jpg
Cut out mdf for the remainder.

Still to do - wrap in fiberglass, cut holes, place speakers. Then wire up that cassette deck and BT amp ?

All that NOS stuff on there looks great. Not sure I'd be brave enough to drive around (a park somewhere) with no doors and those floor mats. I think I'd only use them for car shows, but then what is the point? Guess it is best to use them all the time and just hope nobody knows their value.

Looking good though.

I'm not sure the average guy knows the value of those mats, but who knows. There'll be quite a few things that'll be show-only, those, the mud flaps, the OEM radio, the tonneau and maybe even the top.

In the end, it'll mainly be a once a week drive to work (a private lot) and home, the occasional Sunday brunch trip, and trail rides now and then.

You're going to be thoroughly impressed with the 5.3, I guarantee it. I don't know if I'd ever do it again, but I am just in awe of the added zip it has. It's so hard to lay off it with the magnaflow exhaust. I now understand those guys who sit in their garage and rev their engines on weekends when working on their cars.

You saying a 6.2L with a power adder would be too much?

Started in on the decals, should have them finished up this weekend. I wish I was a little more patient on the hood arch, I'm a little off-center and had a tiny crease. I'm happy with the letters, though, and the stripes should be pretty straightforward.

Also found a pretty good, new leak coming out of the tranny/transfer case junction. I'm going to try tightening some bolts, but my gut tells me it's the output shaft seal for the tranny :/

Can't seem to figure out the check engine light (p0135 and p0155 - O2 sensors slow to heat), but I did pick up a spare PCM and it's throwing a different code altogether (p0174 - lean bank 2). I think it's a result of poor programming for both of them, the O2 sensors are reading fine and I've tried three different pairs. I might try to send it in to have that particular feedback loop deleted.

By deleting the feedback, then you are defeating the purpose of fuel injection making conditional changes for you. Is it possible that you have wiring issues when you re-did the stock harness?

What's confusing is that I've had two different PCMs on there kicking out what seems like unrelated codes. The original pcm kicks out the p0135 and p0155 after a few drives. The backup kicks out the p0174 very quickly on the first start. I can change the O2 sensors, swap sides even and it kicks the same code.

When I dig into the sensors using my reader, the original pcm shows O2 heaters as being "OK", but the O2 sensor monitors as "INC" right off the bat. Thinking about it, it almost seems like that circuit was maybe deleted (O2 monitoring) when I had it programed. I haven't checked the backup pcm for sensor details, but the whole thing makes me wonder if these guys doing programming have a good understanding of what they're doing.

The wiring is fine, all fuses intact, voltage, grounding, continuity etc. OK. No vacuum leaks that I can find.

Are you sure that the O2 wiring pinout is correct and the programming is correct for those O2 sensors?

My approach was all based on the lt1swap site information, so it is as far as I'm able to tell. I'll triple check the pinouts, it would almost have to be a ground common to both sensors, so that would hopefully be an easy find.

The engine had no codes when purchased (though obviously could've been deleted easily enough), and I'm using the original O2 sensors (though have tried two different replacements, both with the same results).

I would also go thru the flowchart for the heater diagnostics and wiring/ECU pinout and continuity which will also be in the OEM diagnostic flowchart.

Pretty happy with how the rest of the decals turned out. My father in law came over for an extra pair of hands and eyes, which really made the process fly by.

Going to work on the riptech wiper install and getting my door strikers installed over the holidays.
