Congrats on the purchase. Good luck with the restoration. I bought a restored one in Dec. 2020 and put some more finishing touches on it (found some factory bumpers and re-chromed them, CJ slot mags and a few other niceties. There are 3-4 outlets that sell mechanical and cosmetic reproduction pieces. Let me know if you want some recommendations. Here is some more inspiration for you.

Thank you! I remember some of them from my old days at the JCCA. But it’s great to have the actual links instead of trial and error! Much appreciated. The tire carrier will be going, as will the RV style sewer hose storage rear bumper. Wasn’t curious or brave enough to look in there. Also the front bumper/winch mount/dual battery carrier will be going too. PO welded it all on…ugh. I’ll make sure all the take-offs are put to good use.

Love the color! I’m thinking of something with a bit more green for mine- possibly the mint color on the Jeep concept Waggy “Roadtrip” from a few years back .

I was led to believe mine had a half top too- but turns out it was from a scout. So pass on that.

PO did the same with mine, apparently they didn't know bolts were a thing back then, both my bumpers were welded on. I made the mistake of cutting the mounting brackets off my tire carrier cause the bolts were so rounded off that nothing fit.

Yeah, it just sorta happened. And I delay spreading the word beforehand in case it doesn’t work out. Besides, didn’t want to ruin your vacation…🤣 Don’t feel bad- Carol got a “ Hey, I found a Jeepster” conversation…and two days later “do we have $xxxx in our account, because I bought it”. But she is actually happy. Well, we’ll see how she feels once she actually sees it.

Don’t worry- I’ll do a build thread here with lots of pics. And I promise I’ll finish my Scrambler first. If they ever ship my parts, that is.

Well… I do have to clean it out before I put it in the shop for storage- so that doesn’t count. 🙂

There will be no selling off of the Scrambler. About the worst that could happen would be if someone offered a trade for a low mileage mostly unmodified Scrambler in excellent condition- in Ice Blue metallic. Plus cash.

No, I’ll definitely finish Red first.
 
She made it home today. Easiest load up I’ve ever experienced, combined with the easiest offload and pull into the shop. Makes me think it was meant to be. Power brakes even! Nice! That looks to be in much better shape than mine is. Congrats. The last few parts for my friends TJ came in this week, so hopefully another couple weeks I'll have that project outta the shop and be able to get back to my 67.

Buick 225 odd fire and a TH400 behind it. It hasn’t run since 1997. If I can get it running good I’ll try and inject it and keep it. But the TH400 will be replaced with a 4L60E or similar. Axles are 3.31, I would like to swap to 3.73. Plus get rid of the closed knuckle D27 front and find a disc brake narrow track D30.
