Cj-8 Hot Wheels and Matchbox

The little woman rescued it from the set and the rest was passed on to some jr collector I was told.

That one above is from the Snow Stormers 5-pack set and sadly is always placed at the bottom so the back half is covered by the cardboard pic.

The one with the snowmobile and jump is an electric blue color. I have both in my collection but am away from my house on vacation at the moment. I couldn't find a pic of the snow jump set but here is a pic I found on-line of how the green one comes in the set. If anyone wants a pic of the snow jump set I can get it next week. Down on the coast for the week to celebrate New Year.scram1.jpg

If you ever come to the coast near Wilmington there are a few Scramblers here. Could probably get a some together for food and/or beverages with a little advance notice if you make it out this way.

I have a house in Sunset Beach and am currently down here now. We come down about every 4-6 weeks. When the weather turns warmer again I will be bringing my 83 down to drive around. Wilmington isn't far away at all.

I have to thank Craig for the tip on the display case.

This is a great way to display my collection so I can enjoy them on a daily basis.

If anybody has a lead on a silver metal flake version with grey hubs and one with white hubs on a card, I am looking for them to finish my non-Leo Mattel collection. Also, if anybody has a lead on one (or more) of the 20+ versions made by Leo Mattel I am interested. By my last count, I think there are over 50 different versions of the scrambler sold since ‘82. About half of them from Leo Mattel in India.

I wish mine looked as good... sadly I have received quite a few over the last few months that haven't made it inside the case.

Very interesting. The fact it has a screw and not a mechanically spun rivet head leads me to believe it was a custom creation from an original casting.

But it could also be a knockoff that used a copy of the castings.

Would be interesting to find a more original version, even better if still in the original packaging.

I was able to find the last 2 I needed to complete my US spec collection. The metallic silver with grey rims and the metallic silver with white rims, both made in Malaysia. Now on to the search for the Leo Mattel versions. (And there are a LOT of them!)

Just a few of the 20+ versions from India.

And, don’t forget the construction wheel version of the maroon Trailbusters.
