My 85' Restoration

I bought a dash like yours (speaker holes stamped that way) for my wife's Scrambler from a private party on Ebay. I wondered, who made it?
Rugged ridge/Omix ADA. My OEM dash had been cut for the stereo head unit by the original owner.

You grab bar looks great on there!!

She’s alive! Well, electrically at least! Everything works, starter turns, lights all work and fans work. I’ve got a few gremlins to chase, the elec radiator fan runs continuously and I’ve got a loose wire on the headlight. But everything works!! I need to tie down and conceal a few more wires and a couple odds and ends and it’s ready to head back to the shop.

It’s been a long time coming, all the body work is complete and brought it home from the shop, finally… I have some final assembly to go and then figure out why the fuel pump won’t stay engaged on the Howel TBI. Then testing time! B98D65A9-505A-4A11-98B8-9797E1D7F525.jpeg98A9E0AD-E715-4D62-A25E-68745DE3A63E.jpeg

Stance is great! What wheels are those?

How did you sort the steering out after moving it forward 1.75”? Mine wasn’t fun with the 44 in the original position.

Those are trail ready beadlocks in polished aluminum with the slim ring.

We had to create a custom pitman arm to raise it up over the tie rod and then went to a Heim joint at the pitman arm to clear the steering gear. It’s tight but clears when flexed.

We tried a bunch of different options like high steer kits and combinations of them and stock but landed here. It didn’t help that I had put in a PSC big bore steering box that took up even more room

Those are really nice wheels. Do you have any pictures of your pitman arm? Where did you get it? I used a flat pitman from parts mike drilled from the bottom up. It works but I am always looking for better options.

We combined two pitman arms and stacked them creating the offset that we could not get any other way. It is also about .5” longer.

Then in the spring, once everything in this stage is sorted, we are going to add a PSC Ram assist which will take most of the load off the gear and pitman.

Are you doing any decals or Jeep stencils?

It really looks great.

Thank you!

I was overruled and my wife said no on the decals. She loves it the way it is, considering she supports my addiction, I had to agree 😁
