Bench work... overall a lot of time/effort just to use a part that wasn't really designed to go on a CJ... let me explain.
I have a TDK frame setup and later Dana 30 axle and regular spring plates with a 2.5" BDS suspension.
So, regular sway bar links wouldn't work, so I had some other ones that I wanted to use.
These are adjustable for lifted applications, however they aren't the old style ones for CJ's that split in the middle and were rigid mounted top/bottom.
These new ones have slip on connections and a pin top/bottom.
However, I don't have lower plates that would allow that. Lower was fixed.
So, what to do? Cutting wheel? check. Welder? check. Lots of drilling? sure why not.
The larger "stopper" is a pressed on piece come to find out, but I could not heat it or band it out... I used a step bit (a couple) and that removed all the material so I could get the anchors inside. Did I mention this was a lot of work for not a lot of gain?
The way it was done, the ends now thread on and allow for the "slip on" type connector... vs. the old style.

Funniest part of the evening though... I was looking for the bump stops for the frame (shown in one of the pictures) to install and I ran into these:
Thse are the original type setups that I have used in the past. I had these from a previous rig and was planning on using them for this one, but I couldn't remember if I still had them as I thought maybe I sold them... nope!
Anyway, they will go back in the "safe place" for next time for me to forget about.

Once that is in place, I can move onto more body work

The workbench has all the cutting implements on it.. nothing exciting there... but here are all the resultant pieces... modular bumper is back on the list to get done... been too long.

When I get this to the place I think it should be, I would consider it... the end caps are from @Kim Dawson and the steel was purchased pre-cut... the places where it will screw together is what needs the most fabrication... and then the connections to the rear crossmember were an old front bumper that I used the unbent side on... and then hardware.
It adds up a lot more than I thought it would be honestly... and I was using some scrap I had lying around.

Yeah, ToyBox, was an early regrettable decision to have work done there. They did some good work for the right client but that wasn't me, unfortunately I realized too late.

An old Miller Legend. I have a soft spot for these things. 18hp Onan that runs on propane and has an an absolutely buttery smooth arc.

Good day on the lifting work bench making sparks as we continue with son’s Gladiator suspension. Remove factory rear bump stop and installed cans for the Fox hydraulic bump stops. Ready to reinstall axle to confirm alignment and burn in.
