:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm down with any US automaker making something new that's gas and high-performance. Frankly, assuming that the IFS holds up, I'd love to bomb around the dunes up here with it.

That being said and on that note, I see all the people saying how well modern IFS holds up... but the number of failed IFS setups I've seen on the dunes says otherwise. It seems like there's an IFS truck dangling a front wheel being towed out every other trip into the dunes.

The Broncos have a flawed steering rack design that doesn't support the end of the rack properly and fails with base powertrains/power. Aftermarket stepped in there, I'm guesing that there's a couple things like that here, particularly with a first-time design... and you'll have HEMI power to help find it fast.

Can it work? Yes. Do I think it will be perfect? No. Do I think they'll sell faster than they can make them? Yes.

Should Jeep have just built the J6? HELL yes.

Also, seeing how Jeep screwed up the JL ergonomics and headroom soooo badly that I can't safely drive it stock, the profile looks like they doubled down on scerwing tall people.

same body as an old real Bronco. Not for me...
Likely what the front end of the new Wrangler will look like when they redesign it. Makes me think of when they changed from CJ to YJ. Peopely will love it or HATE it, then the next redesign we will get a TJ again... and maybe a new LJ 🤔

I'll take this front end over the JK or JL

A real Jeep has a distinct shape. That front end doesn't have it. That being said, the Gladiator, this new grill is PERFECT for.
100% disagree. I see the simplicity and corners (missing in vehicles for years) of the XJ in this front end and I am HERE for it.

you are 100% right... it belongs on everything BUT the traditional Jeep (CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, JL, JT etc...) But anyways... I still just want the J6 and WILL take it with the new front end..

I sort of agree with both of you......
That front clip would be great for the Gladiator and also does remind me of the XJ as well!

On a SIDE note: I've actually always seen the 4 door Wrangler as the XJ replacement - not the intentional replacement by Jeep marketing, but it just was the outcome from a practical use stand point at a more expensive price point. Sort of a successful mistake for Jeep marketing...with regards to picking up some of what would have been the lost XJ sales. Somebody back in the day was even making an XJ front clip kit for the JKU.

Also, agree that it does not really have the distinctive "fit" for a CJ tribute vehicle, if that is what the new "Scrambler" concept is...but maybe I'm only assuming tribute because the name....

1000% The JKU was Jeep admitting they screwed up by not property replacing the XJ. I've said that very thing about the JKU since they came out.

Calling it a CJ tribute is a joke with the way they reuse names now, the name means $&#* all and any CJ tribute stopped at the IFS anyway. I'm looking at this JUST like the XJ, a potientially cool addition to the Jeep lineup, but a different "line."

If this is what the Jx (after JL) ends up looking like (lots of stretching going on to get to a 4-door) then the question of a "break" in the CJ-to-Wrangler line would start given that they completely changed the entire architecture with the IFS. People swapped coils and links under their leaf sprung wranglers in their driveways easy enough, but you were dealing with the same axle or swapping like-for-like.

If the aftermarket starts in with SAS kits for these, that would be interesting, but we'd have to see if that means a trans/tcase swap as well...

watched some of the videos of when they released this.. They made the IFS system a sort of bolt/weld on thing. The frame still has all the solid axle mounts (which some of the IFS stuff bolts too). It seems like they may offer the IFS as an option. Think of it like you buy a Rubicon, you get a solid axle. You buy a Mojave, you get IFS. Who knows.
I most likely will never buy another new vehicle again, so my opinion doesn't really matter. Wouldn't buy these used either... too many computers.
