I run the same front axle that was cut down, used a 82 waggy axle shaft which is about 4 inches shorter.
My rear is a 94 honda passport axle, its a dana 44 with disc brakes and 6 lug to match the front.
I bought my son this 94 YJ when he was 15, needed fenders ans a windshield. It was a 4 cyl originally, previous owner installed a 4.0 with an AW4.
He drove it for a couple of years and sold it, he regrets selling it now.
It is a few inches longer on short side which eliminates the need to outboard. J10 front axle is the same,
