    bigwalton's Postal Stroker

Lol. I relate to this. I haven't touched a thing on my Jeeps all winter. I wish I could blame the indoor baseball practices, but in reality I did have a little time. It's really hard to find motivation when everything is cramped in the garage for the winter. Not much room to do anything.

Time to leave VA for good

Congrats! What did you ever end up doing to get your Jeeps out there? Last time I talked to you (back in 2022) you were tossing around a few ideas.

    LS to AX15

Ok. So I had a failure. Twice actually and in the exact same situation. It was at the sand dunes 2023 I had the slave start leaking. I just figured it was a faulty part and didn't think much of it. But then this past year (2025) I had the same failure. Again...at the sand dunes. Well... I...

    hydraulic clutch conversion?

At the time I was running the external slave and the 3/4 bore master made the clutch pedal disengage in a nicer spot. The YJ (11/16) disengaged right off the floor and I didn't like that. But now that I'm running an internal slave I'm going to give the YJ one another try.

    hydraulic clutch conversion?

Sorry, I completely forgot about this thread. I'm running a 3/4 bore Wilwood master right now with my Chevy 5.3/AX15 setup. But I figured out that I just barely run out of travel on my internal clutch slave if I slam the pedal to the floor so I'm going to try a YJ Master. If that doesn't work...

    hydraulic clutch conversion?

    I'll take a look tomorrow after work. I have a 92 YJ.

    hydraulic clutch conversion?

I drilled my clutch pedal and used a stripper bolt. It worked but wore out quick and would start to have a crappy pedal feel so I swapped in a YJ pedal. Just get the early YJ pedal and call it a day. (I think 97-90) You do NOT need to swap the entire assembly, just the pedal.

    My Yuppie Jeep

She's getting closer. Painter screwed up and didn't realize the stencil for the 10 on the side goes on before the red gets sprayed. He thought it was to spray the sand beige on over the red. Not a big deal, just a little disappointed. Other than that it's definitely getting closer! My brother in...

    My Yuppie Jeep

For now yes. But I'll keep an eye out for a Ford 8.8. Those are a great swap and are really cheap.

    My Yuppie Jeep

Yup. Jeep #10. (The one that outran the T rex and took everyone to the helicopter at the end of the movie)

    My Yuppie Jeep

It's so ugly! Lol. But it looks decent for a super cheap paint job.

Yes sir. You know me well. 🤣

    My Yuppie Jeep

Lol. Yes it did. Also, I can't handle the 4 banger anymore. How I maintain freeway speeds is dependent on hills and if there is a head wind. I can maintain anywhere from 65-75, but only in 4th gear. I 100% cannot use 5th on the freeway. Because of this the gas mileage is beyond trash. I always...

    My Yuppie Jeep

I know. I suck. Lol. But it's good enough for a $650 Jeep. It's currently at the painter. :headbang:

    My Yuppie Jeep

In between work and coaching both of my kids baseball teams, I managed to get some work done on this thing. I really hate rust repair. But the only spots that needed work were basically in the same place on both sides. So not too bad. Getting ready for filler.

Don't Use a Wagoneer Front Axle

Just throwing this in here too... Don't forget about the late 90s Toyota 8" rear from a 4Runner. You can find them very cheap (complete assembly for under $700), they came with a factory selectable locker, and are 60.75 inches wide making them perfect for this swap. You can usually find the non...
