Ok, for those asking, here are more pictures of the installed cage.
The A-Pillar is supported at the dash panel as well as at the floor.
The B-Pillar is bolted to the 'step' between the front portion of the cab and the bed area. This is where it would be on a CJ-7, so we couldn't use the...
No, not the ebay family cage kit. I saw that when I was shopping around, but something just didn't look right to me...the shape or something. I couldn't put my finger on it. Plus I was unable to find any customer/reviews or really any information at all on it.
I purchased a CJ7 kit from...
I'm going to put this in a separate thread, probably over the upcoming weekend. But, I want to get rid of the following parts all at one time. They're just taking up space, and I'm not looking to make any money on them, but I also don't want to just throw them away.
- Original Hoop - great...
Thanks for all the complement guys! I'll be putting the passenger seat and rear seat back in on Friday or Saturday. I'll take more pics showing how it's mounted at that time and post them here.
Finally got my new cage completed and installed. Came out great. For those who may remember when I purchased this restomod over the summer...it had the factory hoop and strapless bikini top, which looked ok, but didn't really seem all that strong. (BTW - if anyone wants/needs a factory hoop...
I know a lot of you saw my thread as I was considering buying this Scrambler. It's mine now and in my current garage (we're building a new garage on our property.....to help with my car-buying addiction!).
1982 Frame-off Restored (Restomod). Probably too much stuff to list, but here are the...
Thanks. I've owned it for about a week now, but will have it in my possession tomorrow! All the transport guys I talked to seemed a bit too flaky for my comfort, so I'm dragging my car hauler up there, driving through the night tonight.. Load it up tomorrow morning and haul it back home.
Quick update - I bought it!
It's a super nice build. It rode very well....even much less wandering than my JKU. Very impressed.
I did find a couple of minor issues, but that simply gave me negotiating room. We settled on a price, and it's now mine.
What sucks is that during this pandemic...
Thanks for all the responses guys. I'll update late tomorrow or Thurs morning....flying out there early tomorrow, then back to Austin tomorrow night.
There's gotta be a reason for the glove box door! ?
Thanks guys. Yeah, not a whole lot of details, but definitely enough to get me interested. 383 Stroker w/ Edlebrock intake and Sanderson headers, flowmaster dual exhaust w/ 700R4 trans. No details on the transfer case. But, has Dana 60 axles, Bilstein shocks. Nitro diff covers front and...
Hello all, I'm new here. Love Jeeps. I have a JKU Rubicon and an '84 Wagoneer now. And, have been wanting a CJ-8 for a while now. I have a deposit on one in Nashville and will be flying there tomorrow morning to check it out. I just wanted to see if anyone here "knows" this Jeep. Let me...
