Anyone swap an LS1 from a C5 corvette into a scrambler?

The Truck engines have a deep pan that will work for this motor. You will need the oil pump pickup tube as well.

They are Oracle lights. I got them from Quadratec. They have the white halo on the border. I love them so far but have only had them for. Month so far.

got a little piece of plastic for my collection from a local Jeep show a couple weeks ago. There were only three CJ's there and I was the only scrambler

    Distributor/Tach Question

You computer controls timing advance and fuel functions. You eliminated the timing feature but you may be right. If the computer does not know the rpm it could richen the carb when you don't want it to.

    Fender Flares

I have both. I ran the rugged ridge for a few years and now have some used Xenon's. I like them both for different reasons but the xenon's are kind of beat up and I may just go back to the other ones since the fenders are already drilled for them.

    A 7. Not an 8

I like it just the way it sits.

I love willys wagons almost as much as Scramblers. I had a 59 with the flathead six in it but the vehicle was more work than I wanted to do after spending 6 years on my scrambler.

    No radio options.

That's pretty cool. I bought a kenwood Bluetooth car Amp that has a controller that you mount to the dash and does the same. That way I can still run car audio speakers and have decent power.

OT / OT off topic / but on topic about our Jeeps

I really need to get my Jeep on the highway for a 100 mile trip and see what the highway MPG would be. I only drive it around town and get 12-13 with a 4.8 liter LS truck engine. I expected a bit better even around town.

LS covers are horrid - alternative idea

I ran a similar cover I found on E-bay. I am not a fan of most covers but the ugly truck intake had to be covered up.

I scrapped the Rugged Ridge pocket flares (bottom pic) for some gently used Xenon 5 in flares. I still need to freshen up the black color.

    AX-15 Transmission Conversion Info Wanted

I did this swap behind a 258 and loved it. I kind of wish I kept it when I went to the 4.8 LS motor. I do have the Novack clocking ring sitting on my shelf if you decide to do the swap I can sell it to you and save you a few bucks.

Yes they are all the same. The only difference is the shock mount change when they went to wide track.

I have mine insured for $25,000. I had them up it last year by 5k and they didn't even hesitate.

    Problems with Bestop Install

I am just so used to things not fitting correctly I naturally go that route. I have built several fiberglass Jeeps over the years so I loosely follow directions since things are never exact.

    LS question to the experts

This and also the oil pump O-ring is key. I did all my seals but did not do this and I ended up right back inside the motor changing this O-ring out as well. Once this goes bad the oil pressure suffers badly.

    Problems with Bestop Install

I window brackets are set further in than yours. I actually had to remove one screw from my visor since it partially blocked the hole. I think I put my hard door on and used it as my guide to place the bracket on the window.

    LS question to the experts

My 2005 4.8l is 285hp and about 325ft/lb of torque. It does pretty good in my Jeep and is just a cam swap away from an extra 50hp if I ever want it. I do not regret going for the 4.8l motor. I got a killer deal on it with just 75,000 miles on the motor so it will last me forever. If you do...
