Hello, Thanks for all your help and information. Great forum. I looked on 2 VIN-Numbers from 2 CJ8 built in 81. The 8th character of these VIN‘s is also an „H“. Does an 81 workshop manual perhaps can help save this mystery😀

Hello, No problem, thank you for the pics. I went to the guy today, who sells the hardtop. It was a CJ 7 hardtop modified to fit a CJ 8. The top needs some work, so I decided not to buy it. I don't know how it would look like on a CJ8. I prefer the one with only one glass over the whole side.

Hello, Thanks for all the answers. This is what I thought too, made out of 2 CJ7 hard tops. He has some other parts for sale, perhaps I will look at them and look closer to the hartop.

Hello, It looks like my TH 400 blew the front seal ring. I went to another test drive yesterday and after smelling some burnt oil, I stopped and saw, that my transmission leaks a lot behind the torque converter. Does somebody knows the reason for blowing this seal ring?Is this only a bad seal...
