1983 frame off refresh - finally

Yeah. Those full Kayline's are hard to get on without heat. Here is my page showing my top going on. It is a great top. I was lucky to get a NOS full top with hardware. It's not new any longer with all the trails I've done. Has pin stripes on the windows, slight hole in the top on the tall bow from going in my garage with the rear bumper and spare tire off. Without that weight, it raised the back enough for me to scrape on my way into my garage. Patched it and since it is so tall, nobody can see it... And I need to do a good cleaning on the rear window zippers. That back window and the zippers get very dusty when wheeling and they are hard to open.

I will be looking for a full hard top soon. My main modes will be full hard top and hard doors for Overlanding trips and just the full length bikini top with the steel half doors for the Rubicon and other rock crawling trips. (and summer around here)

Speaking of 2 coats of paint……Getting back on the side steps.

I blasted them with coal slag and hit them with 2 coats of self etching primer. Painted the bottoms of them black and the visible surfaces with DupliColor. Now to break away long enough to get them installed. I’m going to get tread tape from Lowe’s. I saved one of the old ones for my pattern.

I think the 'ol 258 has way too much torque! Me and CJ-8-1/2 were having some fun in the snow! He chose the Bronco over the 8.........He didn't break anything.
