OH man these ratty cellphone pics do it no justice, it looks 10 ft deep, i cant say that I have ever seen a red look as deep as black when its done right, Even though i didnt have to pay for the paint job I think I am going to be afraid to even start reassembly for fear of scratching it. I will prob have it completley covered up while it goes back together.
OH they grow up so fast. This was when my son was around two.
I found this old pic today while cleaning up at the shop.
I have one somewhere of him at around the same age sitting on the toilet reading jeep magazines, its hilarious.
This was just after we got the scrambler, at 11 and he starts jr high in a few days.
It took me a couple hours to strip the tub for paint and I felt like I was spinning my wheels all day today as far as getting it back together, every time I would get started someone would come in and want to look at it and touch it ask questions, I got the pedals and hydra boost mounted, and the tilt column is set in ready to put the gasket in place and tighten the bolts,
No pics today but I got it running and driving again, I put hydraboost brakes on it from the bread truck and MY GOSHHHHH they work GREAT!!!!!!!!!! I can just rest my big toe on it and it will do an endo. We got it driveable just after dark this eve and I put both seats in so me and my son could run it down the street. NO LIGHTS at all... I sat in the drive of my shop and looked for 5 mins for cops that may try and sneak up behind us and as soon as I got in third gear there was a city cop on my butt, I never saw him until after I had jammed on the brakes to check the new system out and he almost rearended me. He stopped in the middle of the road because I was stopping to turn around. He rolled his window down and asked if it was diesel, I said yep and he went on about his way. I still don't think I knew him but I didn't even have the rear lights mounted.
