It's a wheel stripping beer drinking kind of day. 2 on right need more attention

How are you shining up those wheels? Mine look a lot like your two that "need more attention..." maybe a bit worse, but still just surface rust.

I'm holding out for a set of slot mags, but until that happens, I'd like my chrome to be shiny! ;)

Pretty stunning example:

I would love to have a set of those wheels in 16" for my J20...

One thing makes no sense. I have a blue J20 with a tan interior. There's a red Honcho with a blue interior. Wouldn't the tan interior make more sense on the red one? I'm really contemplating a blue interior on mine, and if not blue, then grey.

Craig, what markers did you use?

Testors Enamel Pen... did this on the UK restoration and they came out pretty good... these were filthy and cleaning took a long time.
Make sure they are dry (left in sun all afternoon) and then clean the letters off with alcohol/water mix.
Probably will need 3-4 coats, this is just the first one.

I think they would look better with some lube... [emoji90]

The rear axle got sold this weekend. So I guess you need a front axle ? I am keeping the frame. That's all else I see that you can have [emoji6]

Ok I do have a few other jeeps that will be parted over the summer, a couple with good frames.

Do you clean up the back side just as well? I've got a set I need to do at some point.

There is some bleed through when you clean the front through the holes to the back and that strips some of it.
You can do that back, and I would if they were mine and I was keeping them, but these are for sale and that stuff costs money.
Also the mothers polish/ball, etc.

It is more of a trial as well, I need to see if they are decent or not once the clear coat is off.
The new owners can go out and spend the extra money to do the back if they want to.
I give it a scrub with a brush and greased lighting and spray it off...

It gets more and more pricey the more you get into them unfortunately (like most things).
