Big Dogfish Head fan but I've never seen or heard of those two. The oak aged IPA sounds awesome. I have a couple 90 minutes left and I'm sure at least one will go bye bye this weekend.
I've never tried the American beauty so I'll let you know how that one is.
Burton Baton is one of my favorites and its 10% alc.
90 minute is my all time favorite though. Just an awesome beer.
So, last night was the big fire pit night so the kids in the neighborhood could have some smores and the adults could talk and chill out.
I got home and no one was home... there were 2 Centenial IPA's, bacon (the house smelled quite good actually), and some fudge on the counter... strange.
But, I poured myself a tall glass of some goodness, had a piece of bacon and some fudge.
I got all the stuff outside and then started the fire, some Yeunlings and Bug Lights made it to the party and then we all had some smores..
It was a great night and the new fire pit did very well.
I was very pleased.
All in all a great night and this morning I got up and made everyone waffles... beer waffles? That might be next up.
Wow....just wow. I have a hard time with 25 choices at the growler fill...
Costco had Sierra Nevada Flipside Red IPA in stock. 6.2% ABV, but it tastes much lighter. Good, not overpowering. Goes down easy. Dry finish. This one could get you in trouble easily.
I don't have a picture, but a buddy brought over Wachusett Country Pale Ale yesterday for the Pats/Jets game.
It is funny, if I go to his house, the Pats win, if he comes to mine, the Jets win.
The beer was good, a little on the light side, but all and all good taste to it and it is somewhat local, so that makes it all good.
Just got a batch in the first stage fermentation. I feel bad fermenting in a bucket, but I hadn't dug my glass carboys out of the attic. First batch I have brewed since my son was born 2 years ago. Smelled great brewing, hope it is tasty when done. Should be similar to Pete's Wicket Summer Ale.
I have a keg setup that someone gave me that I am looking forward to setting up. I really don't drink all that much beer, so I need to make some friends to help me drink it. I plan on taking the body off in the spring to have it repaired and painted (a tiny bit of rust). Between now and then I need to get on the ball and meet up with Roch207 and Irradiated Fuel. You guys want some home brew? Play any golf? (I am absolutely horrible, so much so my father-in-law complains of a sore neck after just 9 holes of shaking his head)
Yes, that is the fermentation going crazy. That thing on to is filled with vodka to reduce risk of contamination. The yeast is going nuts and making beer.
To the contrary, this indication of aggressive fermentation is welcome. Without it you get weak beer. No one likes weak beer! This stuff is gonna put hair on chests.
