Been a while since we had a Beer thread...

So, right now in Grand Rapids, MI, there is a large event called Art Prize going on. Founders Brewery has released their third installment. The 2015 release is called Spectra Trifecta. It Is a Kolsch style ale brewed with chamomile, ginger, and lemongrass. Completely different than any thing I have tasted before. You can taste all three of those ingredients with very little after taste.

I'm helping with a special dinner at Odell Brewery next week celebrating their Woodcut Series. It's an 8 course dinner (one for each wood aged beer they are un-corking). I'm going to be helping with the meat courses... Stay tuned hopefully I can share some pics. There are going to be some really awesome dishes we are creating!!

This was the menu at the event I helped with on Thursday at Odell Brewery. They pretty much cleared out their wood aging cellar for this event. I got to sample all but #6... Don't know how I missed that one. I helped butcher/prepare the meat related items for parings #2-#6.

Firestone Walker Brewing Co. At the taproom in Buellton, CA.

Taproom Brown- brown ale with hemp seeds. Wow, good stuff. And the music selection rocks- Eagles, Van Halen and Journey so far. And not the usual tracks either...

All sorts of reasons I would enjoy that. Now I have another reason to go to CA.
