bigwalton's Postal Stroker

Didn't get as far as I'd hoped last night, ordered the wrong fitting for the input to the regulator and want to have that on before I cut hose for it.

I did modify the stainless line that I plan to use for the return. Trying to keep the rail as cool as possible and going in the rear fitting with the supply, then out through the stainless line to the regulator and back to the tank.

I cut the 90° bend off the line and put a 3/8" compression-to AN-6 fitting on it, then going to a 90° AN swivel, this allows me to have free rein on the direction of the 90 and I think I have it positioned where it will work between the rail and throttle body and clear the throttle cable bracket. There's an unused M6x1.0 threaded hole in the intake almost directly under the stainless line in this spot and I ordered some all-thread studs, unions and button head screws to make a standoff that will have a clamp on top to go around the line and the DEI heat shield to support this end nicely. You can see a socket head screw in the hole I'm talking about in the overall pic. Heat shield will work fine, just need to trim off about 6" and plan to heat shrink it to the end near the fuel rail to keep things looking neat.

Got the return line done from the regulator to the tank, left some extra line on it to cut/pull/splice the line should anyting ever happen along the rail, just need to get a clamp on it.

Got some AN-8 line "spacers" off Amazon (for some reason the AN-6 line clamp dimensions all seemed way too small and would really crush the line), and it fits great. Planning to drill them through and put longer bolts into them to go through to the frame rail instead of the PITA stainless cushion clamps I have there now. May end up getting a few more of them now that I know they work well to do some other mounting (firewall above valve cover and I have an idea for where the fuel lines pass over the rear shock mount)

Rest of the fittings come today, out of town this weekend and have to mow tonight... cooler weather, grass now thinks it's hay or something.

Oh, and hoping the vent box drain will be able to be heated/reshaped and still fit on the outlet, otherwise I'll have to sort out some other idea there.

Finally got back out on this thing again.

Happy accident, bought yet another incorrect fitting for the regulator but it made me look up the instructions for the regulator to confirm the port size. Reading them I realized I was trying to run the feed from the rail to the regulator on the wrong port. :banghead:

The first “wrong” fitting I bought turned out to be correct for the port I should have been using but I was now short one 90 degree swivel AN6 fitting. Got that ordered and moved on to other things.

Looking for a tool, I picked up a box and realized it was a fun bit I could swap on. When I got the tank/skid and access port for the bed, Genright was having a sale and the “you may also like” got me.

Overdrive “vented” power steering pulley. I thought this would help with the ram assist and they got me with the blingy blue.

The ribs are angled, I figured it couldn’t hurt.

That will give you more power when driving forward from the additional "thrust".

Pausing for an update, been at it all day for once! Got the fuel lines finished out. Want to get back under it here yet tonight to finish clamping and mounting them to the frame rail.

Pump - filter - rail - regulator - tank

Debating how to brace the length of the stainless return line. Have two or three options. Want to have the wiring/throttle cable/throttle pressure cable mounted before I finalize that.

Got the stroker set up for the newer alternator like I had before and mounted the compressor. Compressor mount and bolts fought me, ended up having to tap everything out and chase the bolt threads.

Looks like I need a shorter serp belt and I guess I should go ahead and upgrade the alternator “while I’m at it” 🙄

Think the fuel system is ready to test. I got some dual aluminum clamps off Amazon and through-drilled some of them out to fit bolts for the threaded holes in the rail.

Made up a clamp setup for the return line. Got some stainless 6mm threaded rod, coupling and screw to use in an open hole in the intake to make a standoff and made up a fairly crude clamp out of some sheet metal I had on the shelf. Will probably tweak this before its final, but good enough for now, bugged me to have it just hanging off the fitting on the front end of the fuel rail.

Pulled a block plug out of the side of the block to relocate the Speedhut temp sender. Always bugged me how I had it rigged into the heater hose before.

You just had to post that pic of the fuel line with the writing upside down for us OCD'ers @spankrjs, is that a Postal thing
Besides that your progress is making me jealous.
