The (unit) is now in KS. Thanks to Mike W for bringing it all the way. It got here at 1:00 and by 1:30 it was at a mud run on display selling tickets here about ten miles from the shop. When I was in Indy I got meguires to donate a cleaner wax and I tried to get all the water spots off of it but they wouldn't all come out. I waxed for about 3 hours. So I plan to have a detail shop buff it back into shape again and then unless someone complains I think I'll park it on my showroom floor for the next however long. It will at least be in out of the weather and get exposure while it's here. Maybe I can sell a few tics. Anyone have any idea where it's needs to be next? Anything in between now and Moab? i know it is early...but i am volunteering to store it and haul it to nats next year if that makes sense..not sure of the plans..but i have space..and i am going no matter what this year...lol
 
First, Another big thank you to the Two Mikes!!!!

I think keeping it at 4x4Land is great. I was talking to Matt and my schedule should be a little more conducive now to do some more promotion, etc of the Project via mags and other sites.

I would hope we could still get it to more events thru the big event next June in OK.

I just need folks to PM or email me with events, especially if they are such that we have folks around that can help man a display, etc. I am thinking that we need to be looking at least 4-6 weeks out as it takes time to figure out how to shuttle the project from point A to B to C, etc. So far it has been all volunteers donating their wear and tear and gas, (or diesel for those so inclined), to move this think around.

With fall and winter coming there may be less opportunity, but we still need people talking it up and selling tickets.

Again, just PM or email me with your thoughts. Can't promise we can hit every event, but we need to know where they are to even see if it is possible.

Yep, we made the 1200 mile round trip without incident. Had a great time.
We left Friday night and made it to Des Moines, IA. Decided to get a room for the night and just pulled off the highway at a random hotel with good parking, key when you have 37' of trailer to park.:eek:
Went to the hotel and when we were checking in a group of older "band" loooking guys came in and were talking with my daughters. When they left I asked the manager who they were. It was REO Speedwagon. They had just finished a gig in town and were staying at the same hotel as us.:rotfl: I guess the mega budget tours have long since passed.:p
....and yes, we are now smarter.:p

These 2 Mikes are doing a HUGE thing for the SOA. I give my personal Thanks to you guys for this.

I am trying to get the people that put on the Jeep Jaunt here to let me have the project there. If they will i will see about coming get it and bring it back. I should know something this week.

Mud racing looks like fun.

thanks both mikes.. for all the miles and fuel...

I would think it is justifiable to have your $$ reimbursed to have it detailed or buffed or whatever if it needs it but just my opinion.

I spoke with editors of this online site over the weekend at the Dixie Run and they committed to getting an online article about the Scrambler build.

Do we have writers amoung us that can actually write articles well?

Have we commited that it will be at Easter Jeep Safari in Moab for next year? If so, we need to make sure we get a spot for it NOW. I called in Feb of this year for a spot this past spring and they said the spots sell out by December.
 
So, how did the Charity Scrambler do in the mud pit?!?!

Better get it cleaned up before you deliver it to my house! Thats gonna look sweet in my garage!
