Neat, but the Belize Jeep is just a normal scrambler sold in the US, sent down there and coming back. Not a true export model. The -7 is a cool find. If that was a scrambler, I would have a hard time not driving to Dallas to buy it. Way cool factory diesel export model.
 
I quoted him to Mrs 8 by saying that there were 4k Scramblers made in 1983 and she agreed on the rarity.
Fun to watch for sure.

I think he referred to the diesel export as a CJ5 later in the show (~25:18 timestamp)... I replayed it and couldn't figure out if I missed something.

Also this was a left hand drive export... pretty cool... mine was a RHD export.

I believe he says "CJ find" not CJ5. I thought the same thing until I listened to it again.

Also, was the T5 really the preferred transmission ? More-so than the T176?

No way the T-5 is more desired than the T-176.

But, then again, he sells way more Jeep parts than I do, and he must get more calls for the T-5 than the T-176.
 
He is also the consummate salesman. Whatever it is that he is selling is the most desirable. That's not an insult towards him but rather just a character trait much like eternal optimism always goes with politicians.

Ya, Dennis is a character. I can only take so much of listening to that guy.

But when I think of what politicians spew, optimism is not what comes to mind, more like :poop:

It would kind of make sense he sells more parts for the T-5 than the T-176 since the T176 is the more durable transmission. But that doesn't make it the most "desired", poor choice of words.
 
I think there are lots of people that prefer the OD transmissions as they are used to lower cruise RPMs in modern vehicles.
