So, while in Pigeon Forge last summer at the Jeep invasion I saw tons of all sorts of Jeeps with the small floaty ducks on the hoods, fenders, and dashes. Given to them by admirers of their Jeep. Had noticed some Jeeps before around my area with them on their dash...

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. We are out for dinner in the recently refurbished '8 and this jr. hi age girl comes up can complements me on the '8 and hands me a yellow duck.

My question is, what are your thoughts on this supposed craze? Just read an online MT article explaining where it originated, etc.

My 21 year old daughter asked about it a couple of weeks ago. I said I have no idea. So not into it at all

I don't think it's stupid but it's not something I'm interested in. I think it's more of a younger person / social media type thing. My neighbor put one on my 8 a year or so ago. I just threw it away.

I see bone stock JK and JL with dashes covered with them. I put 5000 miles on my CJ7 and didn't get a single one. Must be more of a newer Jeeps thing.

I've had 3 put on my 8 over the last year. I agree it's a social media kinda thing, but I like that it shows some of the younger kids are showing an interest in cars which aren't self- driving.

The first one I got was at the publix. I was inside and had my Jeep shirt on. A 20- something kid walked past me and said 'Is that your white Wrangler (hackles up) outside?" I said that it probably was, was it top less with a tan interior? "Yes, that one. It's awesome!" I said thanks and didn't bother to explain that it wasn't a Wrangler. When I got out there I had a duck on my dash.

This is up there with angry grills for me. Is it good that people care about Jeeps because of it, yes. Did it come from a good place, yes. Do I care, no.

I get a few ducks a year on my 8. My kids get excited to play with the ducks. I feel if it makes people look for jeeps and have interest that it is a good thing. That said a strong majority of folks that admire my 8 have no idea what it is.

I agree....and "OH by the way - nice wrangler! wow that one is kind of long, is it supposed to be that way?"

I did receive a "Unicorn" duck on my scrambler one time.....I'm guessing someone actually knew it was a fairly rare Jeep or maybe they just new something was different about it

Mostly, the ducks find there way onto my wifes JKU.

Hate the angry grill. Actually didn't realize there was a name for it...

BTW, are you impressed this old put an actual survey up! ;)

My wife gets them all the time. She’s not into it but as a special needs teacher she thinks it’s great as she takes them to work and gives them to the kids when they do good.
She has even had a lady jump out of a jk at a red light and give her one. Hell I’m on high alert at red lights like being in fallujah Iraq waiting for some idiot to run into me . No way I’m getting out of my vehicle.

sums it up for me as well. When I have gotten one I usually assume it was from the Jeep parked near me that has its dash covered in ducks. I put it on that Jeep and go about my way. I've given a couple to my daughter and they just end up in the recycling bin a couple days later.

I must be getting old.

I have no idea why anyone would, or could have the time to do such a thing.

Thanks for the heads up though, if i see someone put a duck on mine at least i'll know to back off and not use some choice words.

I have 2 LJ's one still stock and lifted and on 35s. The stock LJ and been "ducked" 4 times, my lifted LJ has been ducked once. It's all up to the person with the ducks to pass out.
