OK! I'm getting excited!Three weeks away and i'm already packed!lol.Have'nt had a vacation in 5 years and can't wait to point the 8 south.I was thinking that some one might need some parts and it would be cool to put your need list here and we could add the things we have laying around to r to pack list.I've got an attic above my garage that needs to be lightened up and if anyone needs something i got i'd be glad to bring it!Just a thought.Oh yeah. YES!!! That's what I wanted to hear! SWEET! That thing is in the mail Monday morning.
Actually, I didn't have to agree to anything. I'm going to bring one of my dogs (I assumed that would be fine, I hope it is), but otherwise I just worked out to have one of our friends come to stay with the other dog and that's about it. I chipped away over the last couple of weeks with a well-planned, low-intensity attack
She never knew what hit her... (I'm knocking on wood, fyi)
Now if my stupid tranmission dipstick tube would just stop leaking now that I redid it and I find out the noise in my RR hub is nothing major I'll be in good shape.

Got my confirmation the other day! ...now if I can just get the "bogging down" problem (look for my other posts) figured out..
Anyway, I'm camping again this year, but will only be able to stay over on Friday night. Hoping some of you will be camping that night also. See you then!

No dice for me this year. Seems like I've lost hours in every day this year - where does the time go? Too many non-Jeep projects around here(can you say "honey-do"?)
My poor Jeep is collecting dust while it's begging me to fire it up. Poor thing - it almost brings a tear to my eye.

I'm trying to decide to camp or do the hotel thing! I kinda remember reading or hereing that no campfires were aloud.Is that true?How did u guys like camping last year?

last year the rule was no fires other than the big assed one they put on Sat. night. That might have been because of the big drought last year though. John, you know the rule there this year.
I loved camping... something about going to sleep and waking up surrounded by all those rigs, waking up to the sound of barley muffled V-8s rolling by
i thoguht the campground was fine as long as you worked your bathroom breaks in at a restaurant or gas station... the porta johns were WAY to few for the numbers they had and were unusable by the second day. I seriously hope that they remedy that this year.

They have one BIG campfire....that's the only one allowed. I'm not too thrilled about camping any more, but may camp for Thurs. night only. Fri & Sat I'm staying at the Village Inn, it's about 3 miles from the staging area. Phone 434-263-5068. They may be filled up by now, but you could check for a room. I think the next closest motel is about 12 miles away, after that you have to travel to Lynchburg or Charlottesville, & that's a 30 mile drive.
A lot of the other guys are into camping and have a great time.

although I understand about the limitation of the fire thing, still think it sucks. thats all part of the camping being able to have a fire, especially in the fall.
I'll be camping and encourage everyone else to. I am hopefully getting there late thursday night. Leaving after work and trailering from Columbia. Hopefully the field won't be as wet as the place we were in at Windrock.
I went to camp jeep this summer and we stayed up around Charlottesville. It was quite a drive every morning and night to get to the property. So, be prepared for a little drive if you have to stay in a hotel/motel other than the one Robert is referring to.
If it will help get any more of our Scramblers out there, I told John I would probably donate a few shirts, hats, etc into the raffle on Saturday.

Ill be coming across the Cape May/Lewis Del. ferry from South Jersey.Maybe we can meet up and do the caravan thing!Not sure if i'll be driving the scrambler or towing.Probley driving.
