Dash detail of fold vs no fold was a change that happened inbetween the 1984 model year and 1985 model year, not exactly sure what month, but all 1985s had the "no fold" dash.

Gazzo - so is what I see hanging there an overlander top side panel sans window? Could I see a few pics of the back side? And how does the wing window seperating channel mount? Trying to retain details of what these tops look like and how to modify postal tops for windows eventually

Edit - i am thinking thats not an overlander side panel something is off with the seam and front detail...but damn is it close...what is that ?

Consider me in the corner. I have never seen someone take back panel apart before.
Oh and I don't need any pics of an assembled Overlander top I might have one laying around here :-)

i could find only the doors as i wanted to sandblast them long time ago the locks are at my house so i cant take a picture right now but here is the procedure.. i took it off a web site a few years ago...
1. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the bridge on the glove box door.
2. Get a heavy paper clip and bend it out straight.
3. On the base of the lockset, there will be 2 small, square holes. These sometimes get plugged up with crud and are hard to see. Clean the outside of the lock off the best you can.
4. Use the paper clip to apply pressure inside 1 of the small square holes on the side of the lock. You are looking for the hole where you will feel one of the small, spring-loaded, brass wafers giving you some "springy" resistance.
5. As you push down on the wafer, wiggle the lock cylinder out of its case. There should be about 4 spring loaded wafers you must depress as you work the cylinder out of the case.

Overlander clinic today. First on the list fix the leaky d300. Hoping that's just from pressure washing, I've never swum this jeep but old mate before me may have. This transfer case/T5 combo came out of one of the twins, the one which spent time up north hunting crocs, pigs, buffalo etc :face palm:

I have spent an hour or so this arvo looking for "stuff" and just flicked on the teev and an episode of MASH is on where Hawkeye and Trapper visit a bar in Tokyo whilst on R&R. The scene is set with a street view of a bar precinct "in Tokyo" and blow me down if the first vehicle that trundles by isn't a Commando!! With the top on. Timing is everything.
On my truck today I have finished setting up all of my parts for painting. Got the Neighbour in his shop to blast all the hinges, door strikers and whatnot that will need colour. Got etch on everything so tomorrow is light sand over everything and clean the entire shop floor. Friday is paint day!! Not a big deal to some I'm sure but pretty special to me.
