$116 here yet, so there's either still plenty of demand or they're not in a hurry to get rid of them. I take it these are being replaced by an updated version?
A lot of closeouts are store specific. With tires it might just be stores with older stock that has to be moved.

The $20 tires sold quick, as did the $58 ones at my local store. Another store to the south of me dropped to $58 this morning and they show 8 in stock. If they drop again to $25 I might get after them. I have a set of bare chrome OEM wagon wheels, could put them on those for summer use.

235s are $79 near me. Gotta keep an eye on them, would love 2 or 3 for my little trailer.

Got 2 of the Goodyear's for $30 each. Brickseeker showed 4 at the store. Tire center closed early so my brother just wandered back among the racks of tires and only found 2. He checked the racks good. Brickseeker now shows 2 for that store. Another kinda nearby store shows 3. I will have to see what I can find there.
My new CJ7 passed state inspection today. Tires probably should not have passed due to cracking, that is where the tires are destined for. It only had 80 miles since last inspected in August of 2017.

Picked up 3 more of the Goodyear's at another walmart. They would not mount the on my CJ7 since they were not stock sized tires, really???? I ask the guy for the size,
"we have 3 goodyears"
"Yep"
"They are $30!!!"
"Yep, I'll take all 3"
10 minutes later he reappears with them. Another guy rings them up and can't believe they were $30. He seemed pissed he did not know they were $30.
I really wanted 2 mounted to get the road hazard. A friends son runs a midas were I think he will hook me up and mount them just for a tip for the tech.
So I will have 4 new tires in my new CJ7 and a spare since it did not come with one. Got dig out the tire carrier I took of a Jeep 20 years ago, or mount the Big Daddy Offroad bumper and swing out carrier I had on my last CJ7.

If you just bring them the old tires and rims in the bed of a truck it solves that problem. But I still would not trust them to mount em.

I had a similar issue with Sam's Club... ordered new tires (slightly taller than stock to help with highway RPM's) for my Dodge 2500.
I went to have them installed after they came in, they refused to mount them due to "liability reasons".

They apparently have no clue about "liability" as they offered to sell me a smaller size in load range "D"

I've run into similar problems at discount tire.

They don’t like to keep tires in inventory for long and will discount them to move. Even if the auto shop is closed, you can still purchase the tires as a carry out item.

Wow I'm a little shocked, I just called the local Whalemart, and the auto shop is closed. Figured they were essential around here.

Sam's Club is also closed. Had to purchase a battery at front counter. Come back when it's over with core to get core charge back.
