Introducing “Silver”… a trusted Scrambler built for family fun. Formerly known as “Family Man” on the CJ-8 build thread: https://www.cj-8.com/threads/the-83-family-man.50192/

@AdamH and I have been friends for over 20 years and share a passion (some might call it a disease) for Jeeps. Over the years, we’ve bought, sold, and traded countless parts, Jeeps, and things between us, always with the understanding that our friendship is more important than the “things”.

I’m excited to start building this Scrambler knowing Adam’s full support will be there every step of the way. Follow along as “Family Man” transforms into “Silver”, tackling new family fun and adventures. Hi-Ho Silver, away we go…

Family Man ran a full soft top and rear seat. Silver will run half cab and now has the bulkhead installed. Fortunately, it was painted during the restoration. It also had a bulkhead seal that cleaned up very well and looks great with the bed mat. The hardtop is currently at the painter’s — more on that later.

Will you keep it as is or will you upgrade to your liking (but what’s not to like?)
It could easily stay exactly as it is… but where’s the fun in that? Some exciting changes are on the way…

Using Silver’s bed for chores will be a lot easier now that the spare tire carrier has been removed. Just needed a little color on the tailgate to finish it off.

I am fortunate the two Scramblers that I have loved the most were sold to two close friends of mine! I get to stay connected to them.

I'm as excited as the next guy to see what @rubclt does with it.

Such a gorgeous Scrambler!

Are those tailgate letters available somewhere? I want a black set for my Scrambler.

Thank you, I got decal from here…

I like those valve covers. What make are they?

Just to add about the valve covers…

According to Mr Tucker they were never officially sold to the public - but were provided to certified sponsored AMC engine builders for race applications. As you can imagine they became available every now and then as engines were retired / a specific builder didn’t use his allotment/ etc.

Therefore while they aren’t common you do come across them from time to time. This was the last engine he built for me when he got sick and said he wanted to do something special for me.
