Yes definitely will look into that before trying to touch the paint more than a careful hand wash.
If anyone could point me towards some threads regarding that. I would appreciate that.

Congrats! What are you going to do with the shell? Keep it or take it off? I have a used frame cover that is excess to my needs if you are looking for one.

Body wasn’t as straight as I had hoped the hood flew open at one point causing a dent on it. The rear bumper has many small imperfections. The drivers front fender I speculate was replaced many many years ago it looks the be a different shade of brown with more wear than the rest of the jeep.

It did run and drive really well and the only rust I found was on the drivers floor pan like one little spot. The paint is in extremely good shape only spot with some paint imperfections is under the gas fill where gas has spilled.

The canopy is gonna go it was custom made and is attached to the half cab with caulking and he removed the half cab window so I need to put that in.

PARTS I NEED TO FIND:
Chrome Laredo front bumper
Spice/nutmeg center console.
Side rails

Any help with these parts would be great

Oof. Sorry about the hood. I know those dents of which you speak.

Still sounds like a really good Scrambler. Have fun getting it to the way you want it.

Nice original survivor. Even the interior looks great for it's age. Lose that shell, polish it up and it will be fantastic!

Certifiable does some great things to upholstery with his secret formula. Search it up or maybe he’ll chime in.
What a great find!

The bed cap may not be custom made. There was a similar looking CJ8 for sale near me maybe 4 years ago with the same style cap. That cap was sold from a truck cap place(still in business) 1/4 mile away from my work.

where was that place located?

I recently came across a video on YouTube from Matt Donaghy about a Scrambler that he bought with a canopy on it.

Ya I definitly want to find more info about the top. Reconsidering taking it off now as the half cab is significantly sun faded compared to the part that is sealed to the canopy so it would require a restoration…
