Latest Scrambler projects

Another thing I might mention. The heater AC combo was a shorter head unit. The “AC only unit” is wider and it has a vent that blows right into the drivers crotch. My son and I call it the Ball cooler.
So you had me at 'ball cooler'. Did I mention I live in a sauna?
Funnily enough, I started pulling my head unit out to see whether the heater inputs went through the same holes as the factory heater core and it appears that I actually got the air con only..... just as well I hadn't pulled my old heater out yet.
Now I've never been the sharpest tool in the shed....but I don't know whether it's just being 54, having had several dozen concussions in my youth or having been married 20 years and forgotten how to remember anything.... but I was absolutely certain I bought the heat/ air con unit. Granted, this was nearly a year ago and I've only just now opened it.... but I would have bet ducketts to doughnuts that's what I had.
At any rate, due to your input Mike I'm actually pleasantly suprised by my mistaken memory..... and very happy I decided to install the evaporator before removing my heater......

WOW. What a blessing.

I totally relate. I’m 51, been married 30 years, and most of the time, I can’t remember what I did yesterday.

In my opinion and personal experience, you lucked out. Throw it in and don’t look back 👍

The thermostat stuck on my Camaro so I got distracted with that. I put a new serpentine belt on at the same time and flushed the brakes, power steering and clutch.
But now I'm back at the scrambler. I'm having trouble getting the head unit for the air conditioning to fit under the dash. If I put it where it seems to be meant to be accelerator pedal hits the blower. If I put it where the accelerator pedal doesn't hit it. Then the hose fittings strike the air box.
I trimmed the top three quarter inch off of the accelerator pedal. But still no luck. Has anyone else encountered this problem with the Jeep air system?

I seem to remember having to trim the top of the Excelerator pedal a little bit to clear it. I’ll check when I get to the shop and see what I did.

I did cut a little off the top so that it would clear the blower.

Yours sits a lot higher than mine. I think i need to move my wiring uphigher as it seems to hitting simmering keeping it from going higher.

Thanks for the picture; very helpful. Off for a four day trip tomorrow but hopefully have the head unit in when I get back. Camaro all sorted now so full speed ahead on the 8.

Starts at post #321:

I cut a pretty good chunk off the top of the gas pedal, too. I also loosened up the dash from the body to make the under dash install a bit easier.

Shocks on, air con install and wiring done. Off to get exhaust done. First time she's been towed since I got rid of the FiTech.
Are you changing the exhaust system?
Is the plan to drive it back? If so you'll need a passenger to get video with sound. (not enough hands since you didn't go with the C6 )

The new headers I got were different from my old ones so the down pipes need modifying sadly.
Video will be forthcoming.....
