Legacy Scramblers

I saw that first picture and immediately thought, "Who painted my Jeep green???"

You don't get hood latches for that price??!

Thanks for the laugh. I <3 artisan mechanics.

My wife asked what I would do with my life if money was no object, and I described starting a business like Legacy. Personally, I think the price is pretty high, but 1000 hrs of labor ain't cheap. I can't afford to buy one of them, so I'm building one...hope mine turns out as nice as theirs!

For that price , it better have a side windowed world cab too. Period :)

Right, well I can see 150 large in my future. I'm off to a flying startImageUploadedByTapatalk1415169085.026595.jpg :bacon:

It says each Jeep is "restored...", yet the details list an aftermarket frame, and the tub also looks to be aftermarket. What did they restore? It looks to me like they just built the whole thing out of a box. I'm not saying I wouldn't drive one, I'm just questioning the info.
For that matter, does anyone know what the word "restore" means anymore? Or has the definition been changed, and I just missed the memo?

It's an aluminum (Aqualu) tub. Yes, it's out of a box. But like ICON, they have to deal with title issues since a 1986 CJ meets no federal vehicle standards. So it's either "restored" or a kit-car.

I think it's cool they chose to replicate the scrambler, flattering I guess.

I doubt very much they have 1,000 hours in it--unless they haven't discovered impact wrenches. Perhaps they've hired some of those "slow" folks who work in Arse Monkey Garage---dunno but I just have to see what kind of person would actually throw away $150K on one of these. Perhaps someone who's girlfriend affectionately calls him "short stuff".....

Expensive...........absolutely

Cool.......heck ya!!

Would I pay 6 figures.................not on my income

1000 hrs...................I'm over that building mine

I think what Legacy does is purchase a brand spankin' new Fully loaded Dodge 3500 truck, remove the body, bed, and fenders, then adapt the frame and drivetrain to the donor body. Then they charge you the full retail cost of the new truck they stripped down plus the parts-labor to Frankenstein a new "Classic". They sell the trucks new bed, cab, and fenders that you paid for and make more on the sale.

Amen on all 4 counts.
