LJ Soft Tops

Going Postal

Well sence I'm getting a postal top for the CJ8 my wife and I were talking about putting a soft top on the unlimited. It's an 06. She drives it everyday and we would prefer one that is easy for her to fold up or down on her own. Do any of these come with the retractable section over teh driver and passenger area? Haven't looked into these at all and just wanted to see what people thought of them and which ones seem the best built. Plan would be to sell the hard top and keep hard doors in the winter and 1/2 doors in the summer. So full time soft top in rainy oregon. What are the OEM or aftermarket options???

I'd only bother getting the OEM softop, I use it all spring/summer/early fall on mine. You won't come close to the quality/fit/finish in the aftermarket (if my Bestop Scrambler Supertop is any indicaiton, just a totally different league).

I'd just watch craigslist/ebay for one or you can probably still go to a dealer and just order one new.

The OEM LJ softop has the sunrider feature where you can fairly easily flip back the top over the front two seats. They all have it, there was no other option from the factory for a soft top. So if you find one, it'd good to go.

Let me know if you have any other questions on it. I love my OEM soft top. Run most of the summer here in MI with the windows out or the top down (most of this timeframe I'm driving the Scrambler though :D)

What are the door surounds they come with? I found an OEM Sunrider top in great condition for 450. plus 150 for teh surounds. So I need them with hard doors? Or soft doors? Or both?

You will need the door surrounds with the soft top regardless of what type of door you run. I just sold the door surrounds from my TJ or I would have sold them to you for a great price. OEM is the only way to go for the soft top. I had a TJ and went with the Besttop supertop first because it was cheaper. It was an ok top but once I got the OEM top it was obvious that it was far superior.

LJ softops

to my knowledge all the LJ softops that I have taken off of our conversions for GR8TOPS have had the sunrider feature standard on them. The door surrounds for the sunrider are unique to a sunrider frame so you need to make sure you get the matching sunrider door surrounds.

I sell take off LJ soft tops complete with door surrounds, frames, skin, everything for $450 if they are in good shape. A little less if they are in more used shape.

I've got two right now one of them spoken for, and one still for sale. but really don't want to ship them as you have to send them either freight or cut the frames in half to ship.

Wish I were closer to you I'd buy that! :(
