So, I haven't turned a wrench on the CJ 8 at all! It'll be going to a shop come fall. But I've been wheeling. Bought 5 brand new BFG Krawlers for $1400, 5 15x10 black steel wheels, metalcloak fenders, and have been out as much as possible. With work, my truck stays north, paid for on a daily basis, so the SRT GC is my toe vehicle for the CJ 7. Man, it gets better mileage than my truck towing!! I did a shackle lift, 1-1/2", and with the front fenders, and the rust on the back, I have no issues with clearance. Oh, and I found another 81 scrambler im probably going to go get. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Looks like you are having fun with the 7. And keep us updated with this other 8 you may get.

Well, don't really want to say this, but it looks like my scrambler is gone. Along with both my cherokee chiefs, my J truck, and a ton of parts. I've managed to hang onto my 7, my boys YJ, and my 62 Willys truck. As well I have the VIN, the frame, and the title for the scrambler, so it's not all over. The new owner is building the orange girl up on rockwells, and 47" LTB's, as a race and mud rig. All in all, 2016 and the fall out of the oilpatch kicked me square. And then as I thought it was one of the worst years I'd ever seen, my oldest turned 16, and moved back in with me. Couldn't be happier.

now, this is a minor setback, but hey, I still have a couple jeeps, I'm working again, as an employee for the first time in over a decade, that's taken a bit of getting used to, but it's good, and, I still own a scrambler. It may be parts, but the 401 is still mine, the frame is mine, and I'll be starting something with it soon. I'm really glad to have been able to record this here, and frankly, think you guys here are some of the best, and most encouraging. Thanks for all the support, and the kind words. I'll keep posting trip pics, and I'll start the next build thread once the 7 is outta the garage

Anyone ever hear of the Gaucho? ;)

Bummer about the scrambler going away. It is an awesome build. Hope 2017 is better for you.
Did you tell the new owner about this site?

Sent from my SM-J320P

He knows. But not really interested. Chevy drivetrain, race wheelin. He's a good friend, but is more monster truck orientated

You were in Jersey and bought the Gaucho I have been trying to buy for the last 5 years?

Ha!! I was reading thru that thread for the last couple days!! He hasn't done a thing with it. I get it. But, no, I have ideas running rampant thru my head right now. I really like the idea of a closed cab, with a step side pick up bed

Sorry to hear about that and sounds like you have more positives then negatives goin on the "trade". Did the same guy get the chiefs and the J10? Your FSJ wheeling pics are amongst the best I have ever seen , no joke. !

No, one of my buddies bought the silver Chief, for the 401 and TH400. Another fellow bought the eagle, to restore, and the J3000 went to a kid who got it running and is driving it around. I'm working on selling the 300, and just play with the jeeps I have for now. Including what we do with the scrambler left overs. I'll start a thread on that one when we get into it

Hi all! I'm still alive!! And so is the scrambler of nightmares. Collecting parts, breaking hearts. Mainly mine. 😂😂 I have most of what I need, except an empty garage. Just finishing off the CJ 7, then I'll be rolling the 8 in for round..... I don't even know anymore. Cheers!

2 and a half years later. Found a jku frame in great shape. Still collecting parts.

Still wheeling, and raising awesome kids. And going to slam together a flattie 46 CJ2a for trail use.

But the scrambler hasn’t been forgotten, and will get built. Eventually!! 8-)
