Good luck. I hope it doesn’t have too many surprises when you go to check it out in person.

Well, there's a lot that looks good there, but there's a lot that's really rough. Looks to me like the top may have been swapped out at least partially at some point. The condition of the two sides are just too disparate. That roof has definitely seen a hard life in storage. I think I mentioned to you in the PM conversation that it's really tough to get all of the parts of the top to line up well when it goes back together and it looks like the person who reassembled this one found that out. The gap between the rear door and the side panel is really big. Then you have all the sheet metal damage in general. The drip rail dents are tough because those are joints between the inner and outer sheet metal, so those likely mean a good bit of water has gotten between the two, which is more to deal with aside from all the visible damage.

The good news is that I wouldn't be surprised if that is the actual mileage on it, lots of times these had pretty short routes and didn't rack up lots of miles. The body doesn't look too bad at all and those wheelwell-to-tub joints are better than mine were when I got it.

Even with the top issues, it does seem to go together and it's worth saving for a price that makes you happy.

Can you tell us what they are asking price wise, does it run, and to what level of "on the road" are you looking for? Run and drive mechanically or body/metal work, or frame off?

It runs hasn't been on the road in 2 years. Thinking a driving project. I have other transport so I can work on it to verify reliability then everyday driver. Stop the rust do a frame off next year. $2,500

If the frame is good and can actually run and drive without a ton of effort, then yeah. I would absolutely pay $2500 for it. Postal or not. $2500 doesn't get you much these days, especially with Scramblers.
Seller said frame is good. I have played with plenty of Jeeps and I agree on the”run and drive without a ton of effort” also with the “$2,500 doesn’t get you much these days” Thanks for the feedback.

Fully expect the frame to be great. Whatever the USPS did to these frames worked better than anything I've ever seen on any vehicle anywhere. They all seem to be way better than they have any right to be.

For $2500 I'd be all over it for the condition of the tub alone and knowing it's going to have a good frame.

That's what I'm thinking
