New Jeep Pickup

Why would it ever be based on a unibody platform when they have the Wrangler body on frame?

Morons. Total clickbait.

I drove the Red Rock Responder at EJS Jeep Media Day. While I don't like some of the styling details, the thing drives like a freaking dream with the extended wheelbase and the bed/utility drawer are just awesome (for someone of my height, no way they'd work for normal folks).

What was the rear visibility in that? Looks challenging.

Talk is that the new Wrangler may be unibody. There are/have been other trucks that are unibody as well...Jeep Comanche for one. I really like the look of the above design even though it is just an artists photoshop creation. My hope/desire would be for a full-size based (body-on-frame) Jeep pickup based around the Ram 1500 or 2500 but so far that seems to be a pipe dream. A Wrangler based truck is just too small to handle the hauling/towing needs of most truck buyers. I want to be able to trailer my "fun" Jeep (CJ/YJ/TJ/LJ/JK...) with my working Jeep (ie. full-size pickup Jeep).

It looks like a Honda Ridgeine to me.

I think the only thing that makes it look that way is that goofy rollbar thing. Take that off and it looks better. I think they used the Nissian Frontier body for it.

New Wrangler will NOT be unibody. It was confirmed to be body on frame and will have straight axles. It also was confirmed that the body will be aluminum.

The pic of the "Jeep truck" is actually a Volkswagen Amarok with the Jeep front end photoshopped on.

Well let's just hope any new Jeep pickup isn't a Ram (or a VW Amarok :)) with a photoshopped grille swap like the photo above...

I really hope they never make a real jeep truck (1/2 ton, body on frame, etc) If they did, it would just be something rebadged that allows you to carry the jeep name around with you and make you think you are driving a jeep truck. This stone has been kicked down the road since the 90s. It makes zero sense for whatever conglomeration of a company now or in the future holds the reins at Jeep - to create a real truck and call it a jeep.

If jeep would make a modern scrambler , I'd buy one. Don't need to tow or haul much, as I have a 3/4 ton for that. Just needs to go off-road where a full size cant while having a open truck box.

By now the only people that remember Jeep even made a truck is us. The kids graduating college this year are younger than the last Jeep truck.

^^^^^what he said.
And for WIW, Jeep truck 101....ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429092561.772658.jpg
Let's see some concepts based on this DNA instead of all this also-ran stuff
