I came into my great grandfathers 1982 Jeep scrambler it holds a 304 which is a 4.3 liter if I’m not mistaken with a 4 speed I have it at the mechanics getting must needed stuff on it with a pricey cost and have no idea where to look for certain parts from and would like maybe a help or intro to this whole restoration thing

First of all the 304 is considered a 5.0 liter engine. There are so many responses you're going to get on this especially with the parts you need. Just post up any questions you have and people will respond. I will say that pictures are a MUST to get anything done here. You hit the jackpot for any accurate information about Scramblers. This is a great crowd here that will treat you with respect.

Welcome and congrats on getting the Scrambler and the v8. Many folks here will be helping with specific questions. You can still get almost everything for these wonderful beasts. We can steer you toward where you need to go to get them. Can’t wait to see pics

Welcome! I’ll add that these Jeeps are fairly simple to work on. With help and guidance from people on here, you can learn to do most anything yourself, if you’re so inclined. A copy of the old full service manual can walk you through most things, step by step, also.

Congratulations! Please be sure to use the search function on here, there's TONS of great info on all kinds of things for your Scrambler.

Hope you are able to drive and enjoy it soon! We love to see new Scramblers if you have any photos!

Yea it’s in the shop now I have been swindled with a new radiator they hadn’t told me the cost but it had an antifreeze leak fairly steady and they also pinched the power steering tubing and broke the gearbox so it’s been a little delayed

Just posted a few pictures to the different threads

Cool project and welcome. I kinda like the beefy front bumper and that's a highly sought after winch on the front!
