Oak Ridge, Va...Fall Ride...Again. 2005

Have filled out the forms to send in tomorrow. Looks like it will be my two daughters and me. Even though I'm staying at a hotel for this trip, can't convince my wife to come along. Though, maybe once she sees the new top and sliders, she'll change her mind. This means I'll should have an empty seat in case someone needs it. Just be forewarned, unless the officials object, my young unlicensed daughters will be doing some driving.

Yes on the dinner Friday night.

Yes, would also be interested in a swap shop sometime. I have a few items that would may be of interest to folks.

Hey, that's great you're coming! It'll be good to meet you in person.

My younger son drove on the trails many times up there before he was licensed, you just have to take resposibility for 'could' occur. The event is held on private property, just be sure you get behind the wheel when getting on public roads between some of the trails.

Well, I been sitting on the fence about this one - Fall looks real busy for me but I sent my registration in today. My Scrambler is not ready but I could bring the YJ. It is bone stock, tires are not aggressive and its not licenced but I guess I could haul it on my trailer. Otherwise, I would need to thumb a ride for the trails. Anyone have a spare seat?

BW, you going to be back from CA w/ new baby (and able to make it) by then? Are you planning on coming if all works in your favor? Enquiring minds want to know?!?!?!

There's a 75-25 chance that I won't even be back in time for this. My scrambler CERTAINLY won't be ready and I highly doubt Kate would let me out of the house at that point anyway. Although... being cooped up here with me in a hotel room for the next couple/few weeks may drive her to want me gone for a while ;)

Nah, I doubt it...

Awww! Rats! Not gonna be the same w/o you egging me on (skinny pedal-wise  ). :( You'll be missed my friend... but understand keeping the domestic bliss thang going too. ;) We'll be sure to burn a stogie in your and your new baby's honor. :D

Anyone know if Ferando(sp?) is coming?

Richard - my daughter is bringing her bone stock TJ. There are "take an easier route" and "take a harder route" on most obstacles, so it's a great place for vehicles of varying builds to ride the trails together but approach obstacles on a line suited to their individual rig.

For those that resigstered, will we be getting some information on exactly where to go, park our trailers (for those staying in hotels), when to show up, etc?

Right now, all I really know is it is near Lovingston, VA, there will be some good people there, and the scenery should be beautiful.

Info

Eric they should have e-mailed you a confirmation & schedule/directions.
e-mail me doz14@comcast.net & I'll foward them to you.
I'm staying at the Village Inn, there's space to leave my trailer on their grounds. If you're staying at the Amhearst Inn I can't tell you about the parking situation there. There will be a section at the staging area where you
can leave the trailer for the weekend. Some will leave their trail vehicles on or by the trailers for the night & drive tow rigs to motel. If you're now comfortable with that I guess you could unload & leave your rig at the campground which is about 1 mile away.

If you don't get a confirmation e-mail from them soon, you will need to call them,to see whats up.I mailed mine off on 9-3-05,I got the confirmation e-mail last night, about 11:00.

Thanks to Robert, I've got the information I needed. Sent mine in on the 5th so will give them a few more days.

Update: Received my confirmation last night. Only question I have now is how good the cheap Amherst Inn is going to be. Taking my sleeping bags, tent, and air mattresses just in case.

Count me in, Turns out I didn't get deployed, so I'll be there, hopefully w/ the 8 (still need to get a bed in it) if not I'll have my XJ. I'll be camping out there. More than likely I'll have an empty right seat if anybody needs it

Fudd, glad you can make it.

I'll have open seats on Friday, if needed, too.

I'm in as well, got confirmation today. Richard let me know what I owe you for taking your spot.

As w/ Fudd, I/we'll be camping too. Who else? Are we going to try to 'circle our wagons together' in *generally* a Scrambler-area? Personally, I'd like that so we don't have to run all over yither & yon to meet up w/ ya'll.

Whadya think?

I should have a spare seat or two on Friday also; Saturday will be a full house.

Oak Ridge has snuck up on me this year... :o I did not realize IT is NEXT weekend already! Gotta get busy(er) - lots to do!

Is Matt not making it up this year? And, where is Fisherman?

I plan on camping as well but will not be there until Friday. I liked the spot on the top of the hill. Somebody save me a spot for my tow rig and tent.

Truck

Unfortunate that it's going to work out that I can't come... someone smoke a cigar and pick a hard line for me :D

So is there going to be a mini-raffle to determine who gets to bunk beside Truck with that Welcome Wagon of his? ;)

Unless the Amherst Inn turns into a complete dump I'll be staying at it. However, I'll have my tent and sleeping bags with me just in case and using the campground as a backup.

I'm going

I'm gonna make it.., add me to the list..., the Bear Scrambler is ready.., fixed all that broke in Hot Springs, AR.., and the Diesel is good to go too..
Lori and the twins are coming.., so we'll be camping.., no generator or Camper anymore.., just tents..
However, I'll be hanging with the MPJAI Club.., unless any of ya'll wanna do the Hard Lines only.., and I'll steer towards that group..
Remember.. Winter is coming, my Full Hard Top is up for Sale.., $700 delivered to Oak Ridge, if anyone wants it...
