Wow, that seems like a deal to me if it holds up and helps at all. You spend something like $75 or so just for a wrap kit plus the time it takes, right?

Filming is a wrap!! About 40 hours of footage to make a 20 minute show. We were told 6-8 months for editing, then it would be scheduled, so sometime in the Fall most likely. Ended up with a rental JLU the same color as my wife's and did a little mild wheeling back to a secluded beach that's near our house. Full court press on house prep since we've been back, so I haven't been working on the Jeeps. The body guy is rebuilding the fenders & painting the dash & grill to get them back to me for sub-assembly/final commitment to the color. Thinking about buying a rotisserie...

I am super excited to see the show. Island living with a Jeep to cruise around in will be fun. Living the dream! Reminds me that I only have 30 years until retirement.

Actually, WAY more than 40 hours of footage since there were always at least 2 cameras on us and for the driving shots, there was a camera on the front & back of the vehicle in front of us and 3 inside on the dash!! I don't envy whomever has to go through all of that for editing. Couple of BTS spy photos...

Body & Paint guy came by Saturday to test fit the front clip prior to finalizing the repairs & painting the grill (waiting on the weather to warm up a bit to paint the grill & dash). He noticed some rot starting to form in the double layered portion of the fenders, so I ordered replacement panels for him to weld on & he replaced one of the fender bolt captured nuts on the grill as well as the body mount captured nut on the grill (I used a Chevy truck captured nut). April should be an active month...53674886_10216140602526474_7546879746689204224_n.jpg53609569_10216140602166465_4567665021709975552_n.jpg54279486_10216140601926459_187036492776865792_n.jpg

He's the welding instructor at school but is originally a body & paint guy by trade (actually graduated from the school in the 70's) just does it selectively on the side now.

I didn’t know that you could repair or replace that double section of the fenders. Mine need to fixed there too.

I didn't know either until I went looking for the panels. There's a guy in Toledo who has some NOS stampings (could only lay his hands on the passenger side...he has the panel behind it too for both sides as well as the panels for the pre-'76 fenders) and there's a guy who makes repros (which is what's on the driver side)...both are on eBay.

A little photo worthy progress this week. Picked up the rear seat from the upholsterer this week. It's a Bestop Trailmax II that came with the Jeep with the headrests deleted...I bought a new one for everyday use. I gave him the Laredo seat out of my '86 CJ-7 as a guide. It was finally warm enough this weekend for some painting, so the grill & dash are done so that I can complete those sub-assemblies. In other news, we did a sneak preview showing for a buyer that our realtor had on deck ahead of listing our house and they bought it!! Now I really need to get moving on this build.

Looks like you are traveling light. The best old saying goes " take 1/2 what you think you need and double the money you think".

That's just the one with the household stuff...my wife's JLU along with my utility trailer & John Deere SCUT are in another container. There will be another going at the end of June/beginning of July with my Grand Cherokee & hopefully my Scrambler. I'll have to have a shop take my CJ-7 & come back for it later.
