Randyzzz Scrambler Restification Thread!

The Scrambler is running great...not neglected in the least, but I haven't had a chance to get anything done. The VW Bus, it's just finishing cut and buff, waiting on weatherstrips and window gaskets. The Waggy, made a trip to the coast with it last weekend...other than the 13 MPG it's a dream.

Nothing's really getting done because I got serious about making my side business work...and now I have about 10 months of work already scheduled. Right now I'm working on a 61 LeSabre with a 2010 Camaro powertrain...

AWESOME!!! thanks Randy! I was just hoping for the year of truck, then I would have had to look up the rest.

Randy

Could you post up the vendor/part# for the elbow you used going into the intake manifold. Looks like it clears the fan pretty well

Thanks
Brian

Randy, What power brake setup did you use and how do you like it. I'm thinking about doing an upgrade on mine.

BTW, Much earlier in your thread we talked about the power windows and locks. Just thought you would be interested to know that I have had mine installed for over a year now and they have been working great

My power booster/brake setup is the generic one you find on EBay, etc... MBM brakes, I think. I know Pirate Jacks sells the same one...

I'm not 100% sold on it, I'm still having less than optimal braking, seems the fronts are doing about 95% of the work with the rears just tagging along. I haven't really dug into it yet...my 1/2 mile commute to work isn't much of a motivator. I suspect the prop valve. I have heard others say it works great, and we installed the same unit on my son-in-law's early Bronco, and it works great. I'm considering a swap to 4 wheel discs, and then hydroboost if that isn't enough.

Good to hear the power windows are working out great. That's on my "to do" list... but that list is gathering a lot of dust lately. Something tells me I'll be addressing the lousy mileage on my wife's Waggy for the next major project. Don't know if that will be a 5.3, or a 4BT...

Either engine would be nice, I like the 4BT but your Scrambler set up is mighty nice.

Thanks. The 5.3 is a known commodity in my case, I know it fits and works. However, the Waggy is a heavy pig, and my wife need mileage and towing ability more than horsepower. Actually, a Cummins 6 cyl would be the best, but it's a bear to fit... I've seen a couple 4BT swaps, and they fit so nice. It really comes down to if my wife can put up with the diesel noise and vibration...and I don't think she's ready for that.
