Richmond Area M&G

Has anyone ever told you that males don't do baby showers? At least, not well. I did once, never again. Our side of the species just don't do the ooohs and ahhhs right over each lovely item.

No Sh** Eric. We just don't do that stuff. That is the weakest excuse I have ever heard!!

You may have to loose your celebrity status for that one! ;)

Truck

#2 A piece of 1.5" wide by 1/4" steel, you'll only need about 4", but it's tough to put in the chop saw if that's all you bring.

John, I think Lowes sells this in a 3' or 4' length. I will bring one down if there are a few folks who want this done Assuming it doesn't cost an arm and a leg they can just buy me a beer at dinner. Otherwise I have a piece of 3/16 about long enough for just one will that work? I definately want to do this set up.

John,
Sounds like a TON of fun, but unfortunately I'm going to be down in Florida for the next week working on my tan and golf game.

Of course, anyone here is welcome to bring my CJ over to John's for a little work!

BTW, got the winch and rear seat installed Friday night (actually 3am Saturday morning!).

Ya'll have fun!

Yeah, I know. I thought the same thing, but all of our friends started doing this couple thing for baby showers... HIGHLY annoying. It's not like they get any more junk when both of us show up. The last one was just painful to sit through.

If I find out that other husbands aren't going to this one, trust me, I'll be headed north on I-85.

Sounds like a covert call to the 'other' husbands is in order to stop this insanity, besides you got JEEPs to work on and JEEP buds to drink beer with. Stand up for your fellow married men, they will thank you I'm sure of it!!

Besides, I don't want to have to call Kate and beg for you to be able to come out and play.. :o

That won't work. It's not the right thickness to fit the shift rail slot.

Come on Eric.....You know I got a guest room, so you can even come up the night before.

Even my wife just said, "a baby shower with guys is ridiculous!!"

AWWWWW! Does that mean you guys aren't gonna come over and throw a 'Male Rupert Jeeper #4' baby shower for widdle ol' me (& my offshoot)? :( (I always had a problem w/ the idea of bridal showers - it's always for the women and always results in a bunch of phoo-phoo girlie things. Why can't a wedding shower include tools, guns/ammo, garage-type stuff, etc...? Actually made an issue of it w/ the 'ex-'... lost THAT argument TOO! :o :p )

Yes Jerry, I will be happy to provide taxi service..you want to ride with me on Wed to Bristow to take care of that ticket I got on the trip w/ Carl to pick up our junk and use that licence you got on your wall? Truck

H'mmm... 48" divided by 4" = 12. -1 for Truck leaves 11 'spare' 4" sections... ='ing almost a 12 pack... consumed by an Air Force guy (no less) expecting to 'fly' up -95 w/ one of 'The Few, The Proud' as a passenger. H'mmm, that zoomie drinks THAT much w/ dinner and the Marines are likely to find themselves one fewer...

I dunno about the Bristol ticket court appearance, but if you drive home after drinking a 12-pack next Sunday, I 'spect I'll be at the VA DWI trial - though not as a lawyer (as if I could  - PA license), but more likely as a witness.

Kidding aside Truck, do you have to go to Bristol (TN? I assume?) on Weds? Can't just send 'em the $$$? I cannot represent you (not licensed in TN), but I can probably find you someone that might be able to get it knocked down... (Not that I can speak from personal experience  , but you are DEFINITELY better off - in the long run - to pay a lawyer than to pay the fine, get levied the points on your license and then hafta pay the resulting higher insurance rates levied as a result thereof.) Does TN have a safe driver course you can do to get the ticket set aside? VA does... again, I wouldn't - necessarily - have any personal experience in this....

Yes Dad, I know better then to attempt this.

Bristol (TN? I assume?) on Weds? Can't just send 'em the $$$?

Not actually in Bristol, but VA before the line. I actually forgot about it, so probably a little late get someone to fight my battle for me. I figured I'd go throw myself on court mercy as it is the first ticket I have received in probably 12 years, and see if they will give me that driving school thing. They wouldn't do it on the phone, I have to appear there in person.

Back On Topic...looking forward to this M&G..

John, since I don't know Ashlund maybe you could pick a place & time for dinner for those that can only make that part of the day.

I'm in! Got to usher at Church on Sunday so the 12:30 time frame works great for me. My daughter has Pony CLub out at Deep Run in the afternoon so I will have give my wife trailering and horse loading lessons on Saturday (she did say she was going to learn). Our church is in the west end so I will just drive Smurf (79 Chief) to church on Sunday. Let you guys hear and see what a manly FSJ looks like. Boy, that's going to make those westenders at church happy!

Thanks for the shopping list and looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday.

To ALL

I mentioned to John yesterday that if he's willing to get the grill out I would go to Costco & get burgers, dogs. etc. & we could just eat there. For me that beats getting cleaned up & driving 15 mins. to an eatery. If you want a beer, bring your own. We can set a chow time (4:00 pm maybe?) that all are comfortable with. It's not that many folks coming so no big deal.

That'll work well, we'll just do it all here. If anyone needs directions, let me know and I'll PM you the info.
Richard, I'm pretty close to Deep Run, if that helps. I'm only about a mile from where 623 (Ashland Rd.) and 271 (Pouncey Tract) intersect. Just 1.25 mi. down Pouncey Tract from that intersection. Plenty of room for the pony, too, but I'm not looking to go there again.

Damn, I hate missing parties! :(

You know your priorities are a little squirrely when you try to figure out how to get back from vacation a couple of days early, just so you can meet a few guys, get greasy, turn a few wrenches and drink a couple of beers.....

Then again, maybe my priorities ARE in the right place!

Directions

Okay, coming from Maine, I make a left turn at Philly, just kidding! I will be in Lynchburg and wander over Sunday. Hope to connect with Truck and somehow Wildturkey for parts. Directions from Lynchburg would be a big help. Tom

Looks like I am out this weekend. Some kid stuff just came up and got to do that.

Sorry, but family has to come first. I do look forward to do some more of this in the future though.

John - maybe I could swing by your house on thursday and drop off the d300 for Tom. I'll call you to see what would be a good time to stop by.

Tom, it'd be great if you can make it. The simplest way to get here from Lynchburg will be to take Rt. 29 north to I-64 east. Off I-64, take the Rockville/Manakin exit (about 60 mi. on I-64), left at the top of the ramp; go about 3 mi. to the stop light, turn left and go 1.25 mi....house is on the right #16184. Probably about 2 hrs.

20th noonish

John, I've got directions and will stop by for sure about noon. Looking forward to it. Tom C

Parts...

Mike W dropped off some parts, so for those that are expecting them...they're here.
