Can someone explain why when putting an V-8 into a jeep they don't use the Rock-Trac transfer case? I know this a cj-8 site.

spankrjs do you think ? not a bot just asking questions
Context would help and why you're asking such a question? This has more to do with the transmission used that the V-8 and is somewhat nonsensical.

Nothing wrong with non-Scrambler Jeep questions on here but this is an odd one.

Very cool that you've been on so long.

For context, the 392 JL does not use the 4:1 transfer case gearing because the brakes would be to weak to stop it.

That was one of the reasons given by a engineer on the development team.

Having too deep of a crawl ratio can be bad as well, depending on the use case.
