Salvage Yard Thread

That for sure is a score for the money. Looks like slate blue to me and the highbacks are the Kustom Fit highbacks in 79-81 blue.
 
I very briefly looked into them earlier but didn't really find much. There are no prices on there website so I guess I will call Monday. That blue is a really close match to my back seat. I'm really hoping I can either get a new seat or the material to fix the one thats pulling apart. The other one is in really good shape. The date on the bottom of the seat is 1987. So I'm not holding my breath. Even if the seats don't work out, the rest of it especially the gas tank skid was well worth the money. I didn't even have to crawl underneath to get it. It was just sitting in the back of the jeep.:woot:

Looks like da'vinci incorporated the rust blister into the knot in the wood panel. Pure brilliance!
 
Was at the junkyard today to get some stuff for my school instructor. Happened to grab a couple things off an AMC eagle. The little bird head emblems and the only decent rear marker lens. It's kinda cool being round with the AMC flag in it. Too bad it's cracked and the other one was worse.
Also had to pass on a 5sp/np231 literally laying on the ground calling my name. It was from a liberty but looked almost spotless. I hate being broke. :(


 
Hard hit. Factory cruise. Still a few good parts. Could not get to the bottom cushion on the rear seat, but the top looks descent. Had an 8274 when hit. Going out tomorrow to grab a few smalls.

Seat was pretty nice. Not rot or rips. Got the seat, Bestop seat cover, door handles (cards were torn when I went back) and cruise module.

Very nice score on the seat! How much did the yard charge for it? Too bad about the door cards but they could still be worth something. I'd grab all the dash knobs/cables, window cranks, steering wheel, and the column if possible. All are worth good money if you don't need them.
 
$40 for all. Their prices are all over the place. It has one piece axle shafts, but the want $125 for them. The steering wheel is bent from the collision. It started raining when I was there, but I may have to go back. There are a few CJ dismantlers im the area, so most parts are available.

That is a great score on the seat! I always try to grab as many original parts as I can off of stuff like that. Sometimes The parts I find are nicer then what is on my Jeeps and I swap them out. I also like to keep them for any future project I may have, or any Jeep I might buy to flip, or sell the parts by themselves for more cash to spend on my projects! It is always nice to have a little stash of parts!
 
When you need a 10WD. Not sure how to run those sticks.

Posting this one for posterity sake as it was rescued this past fall. Was driven in to the yard 4 years earlier and parked. I saw it posted on a license plate group by a guy that was looking for plates. Called the yard to confirm it was for sale (had a title!) and found out what kind of shape it was in. Turned the lead over to someone else that went and picked it up.
