$200 might be below scrap value. How may $200 Jeeps are there left, how many $1000 Jeeps are there left that aren't rust buckets? Maybe in some parts of the country, not really in my area.

Here either, that is why I figured the CL poster was just a reseller looking for opportunities, not a real collector or restorer.
 
Well, wish me luck. There are two locals who are willing to pay my asking price. Not a done deal until it is, though. 🙏🏻

I wish I could say yes, but the buyer wanted them. There’s always others…he said it would be a few years until he started building this, so unless he renews them in May, they’re fair game again.

But anyway- it sold.

And now I have ample funds to finish the Scrambler. I just have to restrain myself from buying more guns and ammo. At least temporarily.

I vote more guns and ammo, especially if measure 114 passes. Best to buy before 114 than after.

I had to look it up. In a nut shell, not good for gun owners.....permits, required training, magazine capacity limits(even owning anything over 10 rounds is not allowed). Some stuff seems in in seems ok, other stuff not OK.

I am a 2A supporter, in my opinion, shall not be infringed is very easy to interpret. I also believe it means regular citizens should have the right to any arms a military has. I personally want an ICBM in my backyard, and I have the arming keys.
 
I’m thinking a B1B at 200 feet would be a little more thrilling since I would be riding along. Seen them several times out in Texas and Arkansas. Those pilots always look like they are having fun

Measure 114 is a bill that even the local Sheriffs will not support. It requires training and a license to purchase a firearm, in addition to the already required background check at the time of purchase. Problem is, police departments tasked with providing such permits and training have no budget and no personnel to provide them. Therefore, if passed, 114 will mean game over for all gun sales in OR until either the bill is declared unconstitutional in court or the police departments develop training and licensing programs. While I’m not against making sure that people who shouldn’t have guns don’t get them, a lengthy class ( proposed 8 hr plus live fire qualification) sounds like something designed to make firearm purchasing extremely difficult, not like something that checks your record for instability or criminal disqualification. Also- how is the first time gun buyer going to be able to demonstrate firearms proficiency if they can’t buy their first gun and learn?

Secondly, 114 makes future purchases of magazines over 10 rounds illegal in the state of Oregon. If you currently possess such magazines, you are allowed to keep them, but you can only use them on your property or at a designated shooting range. They have to be transported empty and locked up. So it basically makes them useless. I have a permit to carry concealed, and all but 2 of my concealable pistols have factory capacities of over 10 rounds. So I would have to find and purchase limited capacity magazines to follow the law. (And HK magazines aren’t cheap.) So this penalizes those who obey the law, while obviously doing nothing to reduce crime. If this passes I’ll be carrying a medium or full size .45 instead of the subcompact 9mm I currently carry.


So, I’m a nutshell- it really seems like this bill is saying - “We don’t want our citizens to be armed. But if you insist, we will make it as difficult as possible.”

I am of the mindset that as a tax paying citizen I should have the right to own firearms of equal capability that my local law enforcement possess. Nothing more nothing less. In our area it is not the gun but the ammo that has become scarce.

I hesitated when originally posting out of the fear, but think this bill is so over the top it was worth mentioning before you committed to the move. One of the thing I love about this forum is the respectable conversations, and lack of political agendas. People are just nice here, you don’t find that very often on the interweb.

Appreciate it. I had looked for property in “free” states, but no luck. I do know that both NRA and NAGR are poised to file lawsuits to block implementation should it pass.
