These were provided courtesy of Paul Blaik of Canada. Taken at Camp Jeep 2002 this year. Great pictures. I suspect this is the 2nd version that they are talking about in the one article. 10" between wheelwells, and 5" after rear wheels.

Aesthetically, I personally like this version much better. Just makes the vehicle look much balanced. And with the hardtop looks a lot better too.

I have no confirmation for certain that this is in fact like the production model. But, I'm guessing this could be it.

Notice the inner wheel wells. They filled in behind the rear wheels right where that rollbar foot on the rear hits the fenderwell. Seems like a lot of wasted space in there that could have been used for a jack, lug wrench, or speaker compartment or something.

Yes, there is overhang on the rear, but in my opinion.. these look much more visually balanced than the other version in the half cab and no rollbar.
 
I totally agree with you on the better overhang thing. That one does look much better, but much more like a stretched TJ than a Scrambler. I suppose that's what they're going for though.

It looks to me that there's a handle or latch on the wheelwell space that you mentioned in the shot of the right side of the rear with the door open and hatch up. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something just like you mentioned, a jack holder or something.

This thing has the rear seat and it looks like the new Scrambler's bed is completely separate (to me at least) so I don't know that this sort of arrangement will be possible with the new one.

Certainly that full rollbar won't be an option unless it's a 2 section thing that still allows for the half top (unless there's not one in the cab).

If you are talking about that small black spot just inside the door opening on the passenger inside wall..

On the TJ's (and YJ's) there is a metal contact piece that the has other half of contacts on the door. These are used for the wires for the 3rd brake light. When the door is closed, the metal contacts touch each other.

I believe thats what those probably are...

Tis true, don't see how they could put a half cab on this one with the rollbar like it is. It will be interesting to see how it is offered.. IE.. combination of half cabs, half softop, full hardtops etc..

I personally don't see how they could even offer it with that half cab hardtop that was shown. It seems like because of safety regulations, they would have to offer it only in a full length rollcage.

The Jeep in the pic attached looks like a product by American Expedition Vehicles. go to their webpage and check them out. They do a real nice stretch job on a Jeep. have a scrambler of shorts also.

New pictures from NADA Show

Found this from a google search - sounds like they made it official at the NADA Show - and I didn't see this link on this discussion board. As someone without much experience as a mechanic, I'm excited at the opportunity to own one of these that I can actually take to the trail right when I buy it! My postings will have a picture of my new 2005 in just 1 short year from now!!
