Anything interesting to report?? :D

actually no  but after finding my 1/2 doors I can't stay away from them, it's like a muddy mall LOL :D

I did find another pick n pull real close to my house-
plus the one that has all the jeeps was closed yesterday:rolleyes:

just wondering where the pick n pull is out by you. And when is it open.

What is the best general tire to get. The 8 is my DD but i do not have money for two sets. The ones by interco I have not found but some places have to call on Monday for prices. I have found the BFG's for around $520-550. But there is the general AT on sale at sears for $85.99 so for four it is $475.00.

Please help

Sean

Very good :) I'm just doing odds & ends now ;)
I painted (with vinyle & cloth spraypaint) my grey soft uppers which are now nutmeg'ish & look friken awesome

I still don't have heat  but will have the windjammer & tonneau cover on as well..
hopefully I'll get the heater core installed asap!!

don't expect me to attempt any difficult obsticles as this whole trip is a major shakedown for me, just being there in my jeep is good enough for now
:D

How is everyone else set?
what about supplies & food, etc

Sounds great Mike! Heat is looking like a good idea at this point. If you can get that thing in there you may be a much happier camper.

Food... a good point. Since the outpost doesn't have much in the way of groceries, we really ought to do something organized for Sat. night.

I'd vote for hot dogs or sausages on sticks over the fire. Maybe some cans of chili to heat up too with some chips on the side. Oh, we could have our own Oak Ridge cookout and have everyone bring a can of chili. Minimum fuss, dishes, extras etc. I'm open to other thoughts though.

Lets do that, Chili & dogs = easy
everyone bring a can or 2
we need a pot, stirrer, etc, coffee & paper plates / bowls & cups
then 2 liters of drinks, coffee & coco
coffee & coffee condiments
I say lunch on the way in (fast food stop??) & breakfast Sunday = fend for yourselves?? comments?
are the camping spots big enough for tents?what's the head count at?

I'll take care of the cooking equipment and I'll have the dogs, buns, chips and sodas.

I need a final head count and then I'll see about reserving the group camp that they have that would make things easy, but we need to know that we have enough to bother. There is free camping all over the park if we want primitive tent camping and we may be able to take over one camp that has restrooms, it doens't get used much and has a nice parking lot with it with prepared tent sites.

Regardless, we could show up with no reservations and find somewhere wihthout any trouble, so I'm not worried about it. We'll make it to the park in time to be on the trails before lunch. There's a deli/grill counter at the Outpost and that's real easy to do for lunch (and gets you back to a bathroom), so don't worry on lunch.

I say we hit fast food in the morning on the way down to make that quick and easy.

Breakfast sunday may be worth some discussion as far as when people are planning on leaving and what not.

ok, sounds good Eric, if we don't really need reservations as you suggest maybe we should just keep it simple Unless people are planning on "other then primitive camping"
Speak up..
HEY, someone needs to bring wood, eh?!

PS- I just want to be home prior to dark on Sunday so I guess it's 5 hours for me or so?? So maybe a nice BFast on Sunday somewhere?

Ok all this sounds good to me. I will have five with me, 2 adults and 3 kids. Just let me know what you want me to bring.

I have to be back before dark on Sunday also due to the kids wanting to go trick or treating that night.

I hope that the jeep is up to the trip just found some problems. U-joints I hope that is it.

Head count time guys... let us know if you're planning on coming for sure, I'll call about reserving a camp if there's enough of us.

trying to make it...

I know.. I've been wishy washy.. wanted to try and make oak ridge but didn't.

I definitely will not be there with a Scrambler as it was just dismounted from the frame last week. ((wwahoo.. oh that feeling of pulling a tub off a frame) But, the TJ is in the garage and I have started pulling the springs and ready to install the lift on it. I hope to have it on this week and am still trying to get up there for saturday.

you do realize you have two weeks, right, not this weekend...

Now go get busy on that lift.
